I need to go portable, so as much as I hate to do it, my G5 is for sale.

DUAL 64-bit 2.7Ghz G5's, each with a 1.35Ghz system bus. 4GB of RAM. 2 matched, Fast 300GB Maxtor hard drives (600GB total space). nVidia 6800 Ultra video card can drive 2 Apple or Dell 30" Displays. 16X dual layer DVD burner. The rest is standard: USB 2.0, Firewire 400 and 800, gigabit ethernet, optical audio in and out, etc. Will setup with fresh OSX Tiger install and ship retail boxed OSX 10.4. (Mini stack in photo not included)

$2000

Thanks!

This is the liquid cooled powermac? Any problems with it?

Where are you located?

Yes, this is liquid cooled.

No problems at all. I really love this machine, but I'm spending alot of time on my dying iBook, so I'd rather consolidate to a fast Laptop.

I'm in Atlanta, but can ship no problem. You can look me up on eBay as neonart, just like my MacRumors name.

Thank you for your interest and please feel free to ask any questions.

They aren't quite as fast in Universal apps, though non-Intel apps really kick but on G5's. Here's a quick review:

This is quite a machine, and should be enough for most people. i wish I had a job to afford this!

Indeed. It's a tough call. If someone already owned the CS2 suite and needed a new desktop... this machine would be a great value.

Its going to be used for editing.

Question for OP:

Does this comp have PCI Express or only PCI-X?

I'm looking to get a Kona or Decklink card to throw in there.

Thanks.

This machine runs CS2 very well. 4 GB of ram is about the max that pshop or illustator can even address, so they run very very well with it.

Ive wanted to sell my 2.7 for a macpro, but the 2.7 just runs so well, I cant justify the cost.

Thank you for the post!
I will do my best to also set this machine up well prior to selling it. It'll have a new keyboard, new mighty mouse, as many little wires and connectors as I can find, and a retail 10.4 box. (I lost my original disks.) The drives will be zeroed and a fresh install will go in.

I just got a larger external drive so I can start backing my stuff up... This'll be fun.

I too have had great dealings with all Macrumors members, weather buying or selling. Thanks!

Aww man I want this machine... but I already have an iMac. If this was for sale back when I ordered this puppy, I probably would have considered it.
