Hey gang. I'm thinking of trying to convince my girlfriend to sell her G4 Mini, as she doesn't really use it ever. Prices tend to vary wildly on eBay, but I was wondering if you thought around $450 would be what I should hope to get on there for it.

Specs:
1.5Ghz G4 (overclocked from 1.25Ghz)
40GB HD
Combo Drive
1GB RAM
10.4.9 Tiger
No box or disks

I would say a lot closer to $300 or so, given that the Intel's are out and can be had used for $500 or so. For $450 you should be able to get an iBook with these specs.

I'm basing my estimate on eBay sales:

Ah, true.

Yes, I would definitely say this would be treated as a 1.25GHz mini by an informed buyer, and some people may be turned off by the fact the CPU has been overclocked, which can negatively affect lifespan.

For Christmas I bought my mom a mac mini for $300 shipped.

It was a 1.42Ghz, 512MB RAM, 80GB HD. No BT or WiFi. Included the original box and everything. Also came with a retail boxed copy of iLife 06.

...Just to give you an idea.

Yeah, I think I quoted $300 before, but $250-$300 would probably be a better estimate.

yeah, that does seem a bit overpriced. i just sold a 1.42 80gig HD AP, BT, etc for $350 and both buyer and seller (me) thought that was reasonable.

I don't know about 450 since you can get a core solo for 479 from the refurb store. It is over 2 years old and to get 75% of retail would be your best bet. So I would go for 375.
