So a while back I had a thread looking to trade my 24" iMac for a C2D notebook.
So ethen offers up his 15" MBP (with a claimed 2GB of ram) as well as a notebook sleeve and 200$.
So we go about the trade, and seeing as how I have no heatware and no feedback I have to send him my 24" iMac on blind faith.

And this is where it gets good.
He stays in constant phone contact with me 3 calls(atleast) and many texts per day. He lets me put the shipping on his fedex account(no charge to me).
I get a call and he says that the computer only has 1GB of ram and he is sorry, so he throws in a 2GB kit from Muskin.
And I got the computer this morning(typing on it right now) and it looks new in box.
AMAZING!

All in all this is the best transaction I have ever had.
Good deal from an even better guy.
TRADE IN CONFIDENCE WITH ethen!

It's wonderful to hear something good about a seller and not something bad. I'm glad the trade went well and that you both are happy. I'll make sure to always keep both of you on my "deal list" :p

I was sure when I was reading this and you said "this is where it gets good" that this was going to turn out bad. That is awesome that you had a great experience and that there are truly lots of honest people. It's too bad that there are those few dishonest people that ruin it for us. Glad to hear it went well!

I read the topic title, then a little of the thread, and I thought this was heading in a bad way and he didn't send your the machine or something..I was wrong.

Glad your enjoying your new MacBook Pro! :)

My first thought was:

Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
Then one day he was shootin at some food,
And up through the ground came a bubblin' crude.

Oil that is, black gold, Texas tea.

Well the first thing you know ol' Jed's a millionaire,
Kinfolk said Jed move away from there
Said Californy is the place you ought to be
So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly.

Hills, that is.
Swimmin pools, movie stars.

The Beverly Hillbillies!

I'm glad that your trade went well, and that you both are enjoying your computers. I had also thought when I read the title that it was about a bad deal, but i'm glad it wasn't.

When I started reading I also thought it was going to turn out bad because so many stories like this do. So congratulations on a transaction better than you could have hoped for!

I agree. Over at CAG (Cheap Ass Gamer) they have a feedback system built right in, and you can see that feedback (called iTrader) right below their username in any post they make. Would certainly make deciding who to do business with a heck of a lot easier. At any rate, it's been discussed in the past, and ultimately decided not to be worth it. Ah well.

To the OP: congrats on the successful trade.

I immediately thought this was going to be negative.
Nice to hear it worked out well. :)
