Is that out already? Doesn't seem too long ago that T2 was around, still, I hope Arnie is back in killer robot mode, I saw one too many "caring" movies from him in the 90's, and haven't bothered since.
I'll probably catch it when it arrives over here though.

T2 was more than ten years ago. It was so long ago that Gun's & roses wrote the "you could be mine" song for the soundtrack. that was their last album of any note. T3 had some sneak previews in some places tonight, and i think opens for full release on thursday.

I was planning on going to see it tonight anyway, but when I read that the Terminatrix appears in the "buff," I made sure to gt those tickets online. If my wife complains, I'll remind her that she was treated to naked Robert Patrick in T2.
I only hope there are several scenes with robots. Full report later.

What about naked ARNOLD in T1??? Great scene with Bill Paxton... Hopefully the new one is as dark as the first two - I'm afraid it'll be watered down with special effects without a strong story... I never go to movies anyways - prolly forget about it and end up buying the DVD...

To put the speculation to rest, yes Ah-nold does walk around nude some. Didn't look bad for someone his age.
T3 was great, a worthy installment in the series. Great action scenes and a good plot. The guy who plays John Conner delivered a good performance. The Terminators were entertaining as always. The ending was pretty clever and ties up the movie nicely while leaving you hoping there will be another movie.

it was indeed very good. not the best piece of drama, but as for it's style and content, it was exactly what i expected. trails of destruction, naked, hot, emotionless chick, trails of destruction, hot, emotionless chick in red leather and lexus sports car, trails of destruction, hot, emotionless chick making her breasts bigger at will, trails of destruction.... yeah. it was fun. minimal sincere introspection, though as always some about the whole nature of technology and its potential to turn on us... perfectly decent acting, and lots of action. and lots of action.

It was good - but the ending was a bit lame.
I'd give it matinee worthy, but not full price.
It was interesting to see them sew up the whole story nicely. It is a must see for anyone who liked the other two :D

T3 is an excellent and worthy successor to the T series. Going in, I was prepared to be disappointed (great...uber chick from space splatters people...yawn) and thought I'd be giving the T series a fond farewell.
The humor worked, the wit worked, the action blew away Matrix Reloaded, and the ending was a royal twist.
I went into this film not sure about T3...I left not being able to wait for T4. 3 and a half stars out of 4...it's THE summer movie.:D

john conner seemed to be less tough than he was as a 12 year old kid in T2.
the claire daines character just seemed to be plopped into the movie for almost no reason at all. i understand the "future" ramifications of what she is supposed to do, but it does not fit well with her character.
and then there was the line, "you remind me of my mother." why??? because she shot a gun??? weak. and disturbing.
i wish the movie would have kept the darker tones of the first two. it seemed campy at times. the elton john sunglasses? sure it was kind of funny, but its the freakin' terminator!
and the emotional connection between john and the terminator was just not there as it was in T2. i didnt really care if the terminator died or not, in T2, the emotional connection was there.
im sure there was more that bothered me but that is all i can think of right now. but having said all that, there were some nice parts. the chase scene with the bulldozer thing was pretty cool. they destroyed a ton of stuff! the big brawl between ah-nold and the female terminator (i refuse to call her the "terminatrix". again. weak.) was also very cool. they hit each other with such force. you could almost feel it.
i didn't really have alot of expectations for the film going in and it delivered about what i expected.
best movie of the summer thus far is still X2.

all-in-all, it was a decent movie. if you went in expecting brilliant social commentary or something, it's your own damn fault for being disappointed. it's a Terminator Movie. It definitely delivered on the fighting and explosions, etc. which is really what the terminator franchise is all about.

It was another terminator movie. I enjoyed it, the TX was hot, good action.
Problems:
I could never believe that "John Conner" was supposed to be the same guy was Edward Furlong from T2. He played it so differently. I kept thinking he was supposed to be Dr. Bashir from Deep Space 9. Any idea why they didn't get Furlong this time?
It seemed that almost everyline was an attempt at some catchy one-liner. A few of them are OK, but don't sacrifice the script. Unless Terminators are programmed to be witty.
Good:
I liked T2, but I always thought that in many ways it was a total remake of the original. Too many recreations of scenes from the first film, not enough originality. T3, on the other hand, was semi-original.
Good explanation of how the whole SkyNet thing comes about.

Supposedly he's in need of a little rehab
Rumors of drug problems continue to dog troubled young actor Edward Furlong, who has allegedly re-entered a detox facility, for the second time in a year. According to the New York Post's Page Six, Furlong wanted one last hurrah before going back to dry out. The gaunt 23-year-old was allegedly rushed to the ER last month after friends found him unconscious in a pool of vomit; shortly after being admitted, he reportedly received a visit from pals who smuggled drugs to his hospital bedside.
That and getting getting arrested twice in one night back in 2001 - couldn't find anything more recent...

Movies are cool, but I can't afford to go to movie theaters. I will just wait until this movie comes to cable tv like all the great classics do. I thought that this was a little funny:
Cameron shrugs off "Terminator 3" questions, saying that like "Alien" director Scott, he has been in the position before where another filmmaker tinkered with his creation. The opening of "Alien 3," directed by David Fincher, derailed the happy ending of "Aliens" by killing off characters Cameron had invented.
"There's nothing they can do to me on 'Terminator 3,' " Cameron said, "that's going to be as outrageous as that."
Unless you count killing off Sarah Connor :p

i think Eddie's delivering most of his lines to A A members these days..... I actually preferred this guy. His portrayal of a weary John Connor, running from fate was pretty damn good.

Ever seen Eraser? it's the exact same thing. An endless string of empty one-liners. After Arnold hit it big with the first few one liners in his career, the scripts have been tailored to try and repeat that kind of thing. Too bad it always comes off as forced.

You must really like watching "The Beastmaster" :D
I thought the movie did an admirable job at following up the series. I felt this one to be lighter than T2, with more inside jokes. The main problem I had with it was the ending. It sorta fizzled. When you have build up like this movie had with one stunt out performing the other, you better end it with one heck of a climax.

That is a bad fad in movies nowdays - the foremost movie that comes to mind is die another day...... (read this... ;)). I hope this is a short lived fad because it is corny and annoying.
Still haven't seen T3, I think I'll d/l it. Not my type of movie, I had action movies that are gun-centric (is there a word for that?).

Not to be picky but Scoff is something Lou Ferrigno would do at a burger it has nothing to do with eating it.
scoff1 (sk?f, skôf)_Pronunciation Key
v. scoffed, scoff·ing, scoffs
v. tr.
To mock at or treat with derision.
v. intr.
To show or express derision or scorn.
n.
An expression of derision or scorn.
[Middle English scoffen, from scof, mockery, probably of Scandinavian origin; akin to Danish skof, jest, teasing.]scoff?er n.
scoff?ing·ly adv.
Oh, and by the way I though the movie kicked some serious #*%. It was right in line with a Terminator and was most excellent exactly what I needed. I can now forget about Matrix Reloaded and the slight disappointment I had even though I know the good stuff is coming in a few months. T3 made Reloaded look like an episode of Barney.

i think we all knew he meant scarf, a very common, easily guessable word from the context. i think you in fact were being picky, as, seriously, it's not like you, or many others at all around here, bother to use the most precise, accurate language. i am sure it was just a typo or a minor word concept confusion. but here's the definition, in case you wanted to check:scarf(3)
Pronunciation: skärf
tr.v. Slang scarfed, scarf·ing, scarfs
To eat or drink voraciously; devour: “Americans scarf down 50 million hot dogs on an average summer day” (George F. Will).

No I wasn't really trying to be picky but it was so obviously the wrong word and no I couldn't think of the word he was meaning to use as I don't think I have used that word in over 10 years.

everyone keeps talking about arnold naked, but nobody remembers that the had open-heart surgery a few years ago. Either he had a really good doctor or his upper chest was edited in post-production.
Also, the writers seemed to have set up the franchise to center around John alot more. In the last two the terminator was the central figure to the plot. However in this one the plot totally revolved around John. I thought this device sets up numerous sequels for the battle of Humans vs SkyNet. Do you all think the next movie (if there is going to be one) should be titled "Terminator" or something else?

I don't think you saw the same movie we did. Maybe you went and saw Legally Blonde 2 on accident. Are you sure you saw Arnold in it?

Maybe it wasn't as good as the first two, however, it was worth the matinee price I paid for it.
Resolving the philosophical issues of free will/ self-determinism verses destiny and fate, was a bit unfortunately in my opinion. It made the movie lose a layer of complexity which Cameron seemed to really understand in the first two.
Terminatrix?
Yeah, she was cool. Liked the in-the-buff scenes. However, the dead-panned, understated humor of the Robert Patrick T-1000 and even the original performance of Arnie in the first one seemed to be missing in this film. She was good, however a bit more deadpanned irony would have made it more humorous.
JOHN CONNOR and Co. (Spoilers)
Well, that was an interesting idea worth developing. I liked the idea that they created about his lieutenants. That was a good touch.
The bunker at the end was a bit sad. To know that the bombs would be coming down and that he would be able to survive because he was in the throne of leadership already was really a smart idea. How else would Connor be able to rally the troops unless he was able to create an underground network using an existing communication system that was working but not completely computer dependent? A smart choice. Thirty or forty year old technology would still work well enough to do the job.
RE: Bullets and Terminators
Well, you'd think by this time these guys would figure out that bullets don't work on Terminators, so why even try? I know it makes for good battle scenes, but isn't it better if they come up with something a bit better, like say, a hand-held nuclear accelerator bazooka or a fission rocket or bullet or something that would stop the Terminators?
Hmmm. Who knows?
RE: Sequels
Yep, well, it certainly set us up for one didn't it? If Arnie doesn't do well in this revived franchise I guess he'll start seriously considering the Governor's office of California.
