Turning my 500MHz Sawtooth into my main desktop machine. I have 1.5GB of RAM, so that should be enough; I also have a 32MB nVidia card that supports quartz, so hopefully that will be good enough.

However, it could use a Combo or Superdrive (currently only have a DVD-ROM or CDRW Drive), Could use a USB 2.0 card to hook up my external drives. Maybe even a CPU upgrade if someone has one on the cheap. I'll listen to anything you might suggest to speed this thing up a little bit!

Let me know :)

Ryan

Check xlr8yourmac.com for their drive database of compatibility reports on DVD/R/RW drives. You may be best getting a new LG or Lite-On or Acer $35 drive locally rather than shipping something.

You could always grab a pioneer dvd burner from newegg ... $35 shipped last time I checked.

I've got the 111D version in my PM, works great. The new version is the 112D IIRC.
