I've been reading a lot of the threads here about problems with some kinds of Macs, video cards, etc. and games getting unexplainably low frame rates in OSX. There are large threads about Warcraft III and Diablo II OSX performance being low for some machines due to bugs in the OSX 10.2 OpenGL implementation.

Is there anyone out there who has tried Diablo II and Warcraft III on Panther Preview that's had good or bad experiences?

I have a Dual 2 ghz G5 on order, and It better run my games right ;)

The problem is with the carbon APIs in OS X. OS 9/OS X games will run a lot slower than OS X only games. I have written to blizzard and apple about the OS X gaming problems and this is what I have been told. I imagine the real fix is in the future games will not be written to run in 9 at all.

I am sure you have all noticed that games that are OS X only run much better than their carbon counterparts.
