So after looking at benchmarks of the new FCS2, I think I definitely would like an 8-core Mac Pro now. I have pondered on this in the past, but have always stayed with my current machine, but the 4 extra cores for rendering 10-bit HD video (which I do all day) is too tempting to ignore. So I offer my current setup here first for anyone interested.
It is as follows:
Quad 3.0Ghz Mac Pro
8GB(8x1GB) FB-DIMM RAM
2TB(4x500GB) WD RE2 YS HDs
ATI X1900XT 512MB RAM
I am willing to "downgrade" it by removing certain RAM or HDs if you'd like as well (I can just transfer them over to the new machine. Let me know if interested.
Thanks.
Mike
The machine also has a Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme that I'd sell if interested as well.

how much are you looking for it?
I guess it would depend on the configuration wanted ...
For eaxmple, I can do the following for $3000 + shipping:
Quad 3.0
2GB RAM
250GB 7200RPM HD
500GB 7200RPM HD
ATI X1900XT 512MB

How much would you like for the 500GB HDD? I'd be interested in purchasing it in preparation for my future Mac Pro.
