FS: 30GB iPod Video for parts

Hello, My friend just gave me his iPod Video since he got a new one, It turns on to a sad iPod face but i have had no luck getting it to work, We opened the thing up and found that just under the harddrive thre seems to be a damaged little spool of wire, However it had been working fine a couple days before he put in a brand new battery for it.

The harddrive seems to spin up normally and sounds healthy, the screen has had a screen protector on it since he got the thing and the case is in good condition, the back is fairly scratched and the front is a bit scratched up too.

So here is what it has:
*Great Screen
*Brand New Sonnet battery
*Seemingly Healthy 30GB Harddrive and the case in good condition.
The motherboard might have a problem but i don't know how to diagnose that king of stuff.

How does $100 sound, If that is too high let me know.

PS: i will post pictures in about 10 minutes.

To clarify: the front plastic of the iPod is fairly scratched, the LCD is fine but the plastic OVER the LCD is scratched.

$100 is a bit high for the forums here. You might be able to get that on ebay.

Working 30GB iPod video units go for about $130 - $160 here and on other forums. Then you gotta remember the scratches on the screen. And the fact that you don't know what's wrong with it.

If I were you, I'd put it on ebay. I'll offer you $50 for it if you'd rather not go that route.

i would be interested too i need the lcd and the white face, but for $100 bux, that's way too high. let me know about a price drop. I have to fix my sisters. Her's is black but it would be cool with a white face and black click wheel.

Hey, I might be interested in just the mother/logic board. I don't know what other people want, but how about just parting out the parts? I don't need anything but the motherboard, to fix a friend's ipod which has a busted headphone jack.

Headphone jack is on a cable in the 5G iPods, not the mobo.
