Anyone want program that can send "Net Send" or WinPopup messages to Windows PCs on the network?

Try my iDisk -

...where you can also download Nuker (see previous thread).

Net Sends (or WinPopup messages) are little messages you can send in Windows that pop up on a network PC.

Try my above program (OS X only) to see what I mean.

For those of you who are terminally enclined all you do is type "smbclient -M COMPUTERNAME", although my app is more fun.

Enjoy!
:D

Nice!!

I just sent the IT guys here a work a message and it works nicely.

The only thing I think you might want to add is a list of computers on the network that are available. Anyway you can get that info and display it in a pull down menu?

I would like to try but I am using RealBasic 5 - not the easiest do networking in. Maybe I can find a terminal utility that can help me.

Any ideas?

I'm nearly there at getting it to list all pcs on network. Not exactly mac friendly though... you'll see what I mean...

Great - cause I'd be no help to you other than a tester.

Thanks for the effort!

OK, got it. No way I can make a menu of it at the moment.

:(

Here's a screenshot. The only way I could find of doing it was to go to the terminal.

"nmblookup -T -M -"

Put that in the terminal and try to decipher it!

Anyway, new version on my .Mac homepage.

Please don't attack it for un-macness. It's the best I can do with my limited skills.

Recieveing a net send will prank no-one! Especialy IT guys, why are you all so excited over this? It's JUST net send, people use it ALL THE TIME, PC to PC. Sending a msg like "knock, knock Neo" will not bother anybody.

Wow you seem to hate every program this guy makes. When making a program it shouldn't be about complexity like you think it is, but what it's about. I think this guy has great style. Lighten up a little. ;)
