Hi Guys and Gals....

I used to be quite the regular on these boards but now mostly read the new headlines. I am posting to try and help a film maker friend of mine sell her editing set up. She got it about a year and a half ago and it's pretty sweet: a Dual 2.7 G5 (liquid cooled) with a gig of RAM and a 20" Apple cinema display. It also includes JBL creature speakers. The Mac, except for the RAM, is exactly like it ships from Apple.

Now, we don't have a clear idea of how much the set up is worth... I was thinking in the 2200-2400 range? I took into account the Apple Care, which is still good for another year and a half.

And here's another thing: my friend is not really like us: people who barter and trade on the internets and use PayPal and FedEx, and all that jazz. She prefers to sell it in person, for cash. (We're in Minneapolis). She is willing to throw in the desk the Mac sits on (I've seen the desk: typical IKEA desk, but pretty nice). So preferably, she would like to sell it locally. So, you Minneapolis people: are you interested?

But, knowing how these things work, I also told her we may have to sell it to someone outside Minneapolis. In that case, we can use my PayPal and Fed Ex account.

What do you peoples think of the price? My friend (okay, her nickname is Ginger) is moving to a new apartment and no longer needs the Mac since her movie project is finished and wants to sell it.

I know I haven't been around much lately, but I've sold a couple of Macs and a Canon GL2 on MacRumors before... oh yeah: here's a link to specs:

how much would you want for just the display?

Well, I'm pretty sure Ginger wants to sell the set up as a whole. I'm guessing no less than 425 on the display.

Hi guys, I thought I would post a little note saying 'hello' since I am actually the one selling the computer. Feel free to ask either one of us if you have any questions about the machine! I would be happy to ship, but of course happier to not ship! i'm sure you understand.

It's a great machine, i barely used it and it really is like new!

Hm...you don't happen to be in MN do you? I saw the exact same pics/description posted here on Craigslist just a little bit ago?

Yes, of course it has a side. I just took it off for the effect, I suppose. And the RAM is installed in two 512MB sticks. Here's a pic of the G5 running:

Thanks.

I know Ginger got payment and is in the process of shipping it, if she has not done so already. I will contact her today and ask her. Thanks!
