View Full Version : Best way to waste time at work?

What are your preferred ways waste time when you're sitting at work in front of your computer?
Let me set out the criteria for what i consider to be a good time-waster:
1 Replay-ability. The Onion (http://www.theonion.com) is fantastic, but it's only good for 30-45 minutes once a week. I'm talking about something you can do for extended periods of time. Think Snood.
2 Boss-ability. That which does not draw too much attention to itself, and which may be quickly disposed of (or peferably minimized, so you don't lose all your progress.) It's a little tough to hide it when you're running some massive full-screen shooter.
3. Office-friendly. We all have to do work sometime or later... a great time-waster knows this, and will not pout when you have to pause to put a coversheet on your TPS report. I used to be into online Scrabble, but I kept having to interrupt my game when someone walked into my office and I lost a lot of games on time.
Aside from that, the field is wide-open... do y'all have favorite time-wasting websites? Are you into Burning Monkey Solitaire? (You should be.) Do you just let the gentle RF waves roll over you?

NOTE: Hey, the guy in the "Unemployed Man Getting Really Good At Unemployment" article at The Onion is using a Powerbook. Nice.

some games on yahoo are great...
especially ones where you somewhat mindlessly click to make blocks of color disappear.

The Quake 3 server that sits under my desk is pretty good, every so often someone will shout "fragfest" and we all head for a deathmatch, only one, that's the rule, but there's no limit to how many times you can shout "fragfest":D
Other than that, I go sit on the roof and drink coffee.

masturbation?
You don't want your boss to catch you trying to hide 'your business' in a corner of a cubicle though ;).
I'd probably still give it a shot.

If I add togather all the hours I spend in MacRumors for the last two years, easilly I could get another degree in audio enginner or multimedia or any other carrer.
I burn a lot of stress in this forums.
