WTB xbox 360..plus question

My son's bday is in 2 weeks.
He wants to play the new Tom Clancy war game and halo so I think this is the system he needs. If anyone has any other suggestions on a premium or elite,
please pipe up so I don't buy the wrong one.
Any used systems out there?

no need to waste $ on the elite version unless YOU WANT/NEED HDMI. i mean the only difference is the hdmi and a bigger hdd (which also is something worth noting). I feel that elite is a waste of $. Just stick with the premium.

I have a 360 system that I have been considering selling. It's the Premium edition, purchased in April 2006 -- I also bought a 2-year Best Buy replacement plan on it, so it is covered by that until April 2008.

Includes 2 wireless controllers, the Wi-Fi adapter and several games... Splinter Cell: Double Agent, NBA 2k7, NBA Live 2006, Madden 2007, Lego Star Wars II, a baseball game (MLB 2k6 I think), Burnout: Takedown.

Also Halo 2, which is for the regular Xbox but plays on the 360.

Original box, manuals, etc for the system as well.

The elite isn't a total waste of money. It is actually a good deal for someone who is buying from nothing. Although it does have more bells and whistles than the premium. The bigger Hard Drive if he downloads enough crap and has HDMI port which would be pointless if you don't have a high def tv. Go premium i think. If you have a High Def Tv and are going to want to take advantage of downloading the rental movies onto the hard drive go elite.

But most importantly, make sure you pick up another controller. :)

If you're buying new, I would advise almost advise the PS3 as it's cheaper than the Elite and still comes with a bigger HDD and HD drive as standard which the Elite does not.

However you mention the games as the important point as most occasions. Like the other posters here, don't bother with the Elite (black) 360 version. It's a waste of money for something trivial unless you really really need it, or just want pointless and not very impressive bragging rights.

Get the bundle with a HDD, wireless controller and a 360 HD AV (VGA) cable and you're set. :)

I have a 360 and i would say the premium is what you want to get.Set him up with a 360 premium, an extra controller, a 12 month live subscription, and a game or two.
