First of all, let me make it clear that is is solely a feeler. I am not at all interested in entertaining deals right now, but want to make an estimate for near-future reference.

I'm interested in trading my iMac (specs in sig) for a MacBook Pro. I can throw in cash if necessary, but I want to see what deals are out there.

Got an estimate or a trade for me?

I'd value your Mac at about £750, I'm not sure what you'd get in a trade for it..

I'm not ready to sell or trade yet, as stated above, so I guess the answer would be no.

I have a 1.83 core duo Mbp and want to trade it for a 20 in iMac. Let me know if you are interested

I'm not sure I'm interested in a Core Duo machine, or a 1.83 GHz machine for that matter, but what's the max RAM spec?

Max Ram on a Core Duo 1.83 is 2GB

That's what I thought, so unfortunately, it's a definite no. That would be a downgrade from my iMac, and I'm looking for a machine with higher specs.

Thanks though!

Well you would definatly have to offer cash and your imac for someone with a C2D MBP, as they are worth way more.

A feeler is a thread used to gauge interest and value of an item(s). It is common for a discussion to ensue about the value of the item in a feeler, which sometimes isn't very fun. This practice is not accepted in a FS (For Sale) or FT (For Trade) or WTT, (you get the point) thread as it is considered thread crapping and I consider it quite rude.

You will have to add cash (lots of it) if you want to trade for a notebook with equal or higher specs then your iMac.

@rhagen: Yeah I know that. I'm just feeling to see what the market is like right now.

If I were to trade for a C2D (probably not SR) MBP, how much cash do you think I'd need to throw in? I know it depends on the processor and RAM specs, but can I get a general estimate?
