I am posting a feeler for my broken 12" PowerBook G4 since it has just been sitting here collecting dust. It's not in the best cosmetic shape and it doesn't work due to what I believe is a logic board failure, this is good for parts if you need any and is being sold AS-IS. I might be interested in selling this or putting it up on eBay, so first I wanted to post it here to maybe get an idea of how much it would be worth.

The machine worked pretty well before the logic board failed, I even bought a new DC converter (battery) board for the unit, but that did not solve any problems. No AC adapter or Battery would be included, (both batteries I have are dead or close to it anyway) The memory door, screws, and other tiny parts are in a little bag which would be sold with the PowerBook.

The only part that might work is the 1X DVD-RW drive. This worked fine before the logic board died, but of course since I can't test the machine anymore it might as well not work. There are two DC converter boards, one I bought new from a Mac web site for $35 which should still work, but again since I can't test it, I'm selling it AS-IS. No Hard Drive or RAM is included. Also there is an AirPort Extreme wireless card and built-in Bluetooth, I believe there is 128MB of RAM built-into the logic board along with an nVidia Go 32MB video card.

When working this machine was an 867MHz G4 laptop with two USB 1.1 ports, Ethernet, a 56k Modem, FireWire, and a Mini-VGA port for video output to a monitor or TV, audio input and audio output via standard 3.5mm stereo mini-jacks.

The screen was in pretty good shape, but it did have some flaws. There were a few marks on the screen, a tiny hairline crack about a centimeter wide in the absolute bottom right corner, and a few tiny spots on the LCD which showed odd color, and at least one dead pixel. The screen may still work and would be good for parts.

I'm not expecting to get a lot for this, so I just thought I'd post it and see what happened. Photos are attached below, as you can see it's a bit beat up. Some of the soft aluminum is bent or has tiny dents in it along with the scratches, also the keys are worn a bit, but all of the keys are included (the top four missing are in a bag). What you see is what you get.

Thanks for looking! :D

I'm guesing ~$100 is its worth due to no batt./adapter, condition and cosmetics. Interested in any trades? I want a G4 computer for the fun of it, never hhad one lol.

I suppose I'd be interested in trades, if you want to offer me a trade I'd prefer you do it via private message so I can keep track of it easier, or over AIM/iChat, but you can always leave me a message here and I can check it out.

If you want you can contact me on iChat if you're interested. :)
