Is the midrange iMac worth the extra $200 if I don't want to use DVD's? How much of an effect does the 256 MB of memory have over 128 MB? Also: how well does a PC emulator work with PC software? I am considering purchasing the new iMac and I would find an answer to any of these questions helpful. Thanks.

There is no difference except that the low-end does not have apple pro speakers, and it does not have the DVD, and it does not have the 256 RAM. Now...if I were you, I would buy a 512MB chip from a 3RD PARTY SOURCE, and put it in the imac for around 150 bucks.

you WILL notice a speed difference with more RAM!
