I'm considering selling my MacPro soon and wanted to get an idea of what I might be able to get for it. I need to sell the complete setup though, I'm using the money to get a 24" iMac and the leftover funds are going towards another Canon XL2. It's a 2.66 with 6 gigs of ram, Bluetooth, 1.3TB of storage and a 24" Dell widescreen monitor. I'll post pics if there are any seriously interested parties. Thanks.

Ill ask the two usual questions:

Applecare? (when was it purchased?)
Willing to separate the monitor and machine?

Edit: You mention Bluetooth; does it have Wifi? (Airport?)

For the record, as per PMs earlier today, I have dibs on the monitor if an interested party in Mac Pro does not wish to buy them together.

No Applecare, however it was purchased in April of this year. I am willing to separate the two if I have a buyer for both. Just Bluetooth, no wifi.

How is the RAM laid out? How many of what size sticks? What is each size hard drive and what is each manufacturer?

O.K., RAM: 2x1Gb of original Apple ram. 2x1Gb of Crucial ram. 4x512 of OWC ram. All good and no ECC errors.
Hard drives: 1x250Gb original hard drive. 1x250 Seagate. 2x400 Seagate.

Any idea what revision the 2407 is? Any banding issues?

Not sure of the revision, it was also purchased in April of this year. No banding issues at all.

As a person who is sitting on his hands waiting to see what the new imac is like before buying a refurbished 2.66 I'm am curious why you're selling? Is the Pro too much machine.. or are you thinking the 24" iMac will serve your needs just as well? Just wondering what your thought process is in terms of having the Mac Pro.. and only a few months down the road deciding an iMac is better.. thanks!

The MacPro is a great machine. As indicated in the first post above, it is a fiancial issue. I'm trying to get my hands on another Canon XL2 camera and the difference between the sale of the MacPro and purchase of an iMac would help me get there. I would be settling for a lesser machine for my production work, but I could always uprade again next year sometime. I really need matching cameras.

After talking it over with my wife, I'm willing to let it all go for $3100.00 shipped.

Dang, that is a helluva deal (knowing what I paid for a similarly equipped MacPro -- nearly $4k without the monitor, no BT and about 300gig less HD space). Anyone wanting a great deal should seriously consider this set-up!

Yeah, exactly. I did nearly pay $4000.00 for this setup. I'm alright with it since parting with it will help my front end production process.

I believe 4God and myself have reached an agreement on this complete setup. I will be mailing a cashier's check on Monday to pay for it in full.

Just recieved the shipment from 4God.. everything looks to be in great shape. I'm going to skip out of work early, go get an EXTRA long DVI cable and hook it all up.

Pics to follow.

I'm glad to hear all arrived well and intact. Were you able to sleep last night? :D

Hahah... man, you have no idea. I swear, I worked harder this weekend than any mac pro owner ever has in order to prep for arrival. My house was built in 1910, the electric is old and crappy.. so I put in a new breaker and ran fresh (grounded) electrical up through the walls and into my office. I was climbing around inside the walls and attic spaces (plus it was well over 90 degrees).. getting tons of old coal dust all over myself and just creating a huge mess... BUT, the electrical work is new, dedicated, and fully installed and tested.

I was able to sleep.. but only from pure exhaustion.

Also, I kept joking that when the 65 pound box showed up.. there'd be a cinder block inside, so I was a little stressed... bit I have to say, 4God really came through and is very trust worthy and reliable. :)

WOW. All for the arrival of a new MacPro. That's dedication.:)
