Switching between games and other apps

How can I switch to another application without having to quit a game? In Windows this is easy.

It depends which games support the feature, but Apple-H is the general keystroke to hide a window/app. Some may also use Apple-M which is the shortcut for minimising...

Never heard of Apple + H doing anything execpt hiding.

Each program is different tho.

I just checked with Quake 3, and it's apple+h, apple+m doesn't do anything in Quake.
Warcraft 3 listens to apple+m.
