View Full Version : I Hate Apple If....

I hate Apple if... they fail to release an affordable headless Mac tower today. Such an option is WAY OVERDUE! I don't want to see just another rendition of an all-in-one iMac or a way-too-small Mac Mini. This just won't cut it, Apple.

Mac OS X is awsome - except oh wait.. Mac OS X totally sucks.. why, you ask? ... Because the hardware options of what to run it on are so limited.

Wow!

Hate is such a strong word to use for something like this!

By maintaining a small hardware selection, Apple can control the quality of the OS. I am perfectly happy. I just want a stable working machine, as do millions of others.

keep dreaming. and keep hating. i doubt we'll be seeing any such thing offered, it just doesn't seem to be the direction that apple wants to move in.

Well with the rumored price increase in the iMac line (the bottom end). It would seems as they are making space for something of that ilk.

i believe that with the notion of dropping the 17" iMac that consequently means that the 20" will come down in price. its the exact same thing that happened when they dropped the 15"

Snore... No market for it.

Define 'Affordable'...

Define 'Affordable'...

Affordable = ~$950 (BYOKMD) Give or take $100

Oh wait  the US Dollar is tanking due to the New World Order! OMG! What ever shall we do! I guess they'll have to double the price now

I envision a mini tower configuration as fitting between the top of the line iMac and the Mac Pro, not below the iMac.

So (Giving or taking that $100) the same price as the cheapest iMac?

It's just not going to happen im afraid.

Keep hating. I mean, if you wanted customization options, you could always a buy a Dell.

Just to bring in a sunny note into this discussion: I saw Ratatouille yesterday and loved it to pieces. What a great film that was! :) I was sincerely emotionally moved by it, to both the happy and sad sides of the spectrum. Really good. Thumbs up; I rate it a 9,8.

Now, back on topic again. I would love Apple to introduce the Mac (as a new model's name). But I really don't see it happening anymore. It's introduction was stated as being long overdue a couple of years ago, but it's still not here. So, no, I don't see it happening, although I would love to be proven wrong. Then again, I myself am merely awaiting the new iMac. I give the probability for an update to that model slightly higher odds...

Dear MacVault,

As we have no plans to release a computer of the sort you are describing, we are sorry to lose your business. We'll console ourselves with the profits from our kazillion-dollar Mac and iPod business.

Thanks,

Fake Apple

P.S. We don't hate you

There will never be a MacMedium. It's quite clear that apple wants to sell Mac Pro's to the developers, and iMac's to the families. You'll never see a headless midrange machine.

Apple makes their money off of moms and pops, not power users. Plan on the iMac becoming more and more successful as a home appliance. The days of "home computers" are over for Mac. And rightly so.

To me this is the single biggest drawback to Mac OS X - Apple dictates what it will run on... Apple tells me we're living in an "all-in-one-world" ?!?!?!

Who does Steve Jobs think he is?! Let ME decide whether I live in an all-in-one-world or NOT! #%^#^$@@%$@%:mad::mad:

What a royal p1$$3r

Say what you want losers.

Meanwhile enjoy editing photos on that forced glossy screen you have got

More diversity in selection is always good, regardless of what you naysayers seem to want to say...
