Hello,

I bought the new, stock, 24" Apple iMac on Tuesday. To make a long story short, I need to sell/return it. I paid with an edu discount, so if I return it, minus the restocking fee, I will get a little over 1650. I will sell it here for 1650 shipped via UPS ground.

I would prefer to sell it here as opposed to taking it back to the store. I have sold tons of stuff here and ebay feedback is mgheath.

I prefer paypal for payment and will ship only to a confirmed address.

It will come with the receipt as well. I paid 1837 out the door.

It comes with everything, including the box and everything is absolutely mint and the screen has zero dead or stuck pixels.

Email me with any questions.

Thanks,

Brandon

why don't you try returning it and ask the apple store to waive the restocking fee? it couldn't hurt to ask.

I would just rather take the loss. I hate the whole 'return' drama.

Sounds odd to me.

Yep, I am a scammer. I joined here 5 years ago and I received 210 positive feedbacks on ebay to hopefully one day scam someone on MR. :p;)

**Just for the record, the iMac will come with the original receipt from the Apple Store**

He would probably rather sell it so he can keep his free $200 iPod and free $100 printer.

Those are the current student promotions... If he sells it for asking price he will come out with extra cash. That is if he took advantage of those 2 deals.

Unfortunately, it is against Apple's student pricing policy to re-sell a student price machine. I don't know if it's ever been tested in court, though.

Once you've had it long enough to have been considered to have 'used' it, I'm sure it's okay, but not when it's so new.

If you're willing to take the loss by selling it to a MR'er, then just take the loss returning it to Apple.

My understanding is that the legal definition of resale includes an intent by the original purchaser to sell it to someone else, not simply the act of selling it second-hand. As long as the intent wasn't there at the time of purchase, he's perfectly able to resell the machine. It's obviously difficult to prove intent or lack of intent, but the fact that purchasers are limited to one purchase per year under the EDU program serves to limit any abuse of the program.

I am in no way trying to break the law here. I did not do any promotion that would profit me in any way. The purchase was for the iMac only. I am going to lose money, so I really do not think Apple would care.

To make a long story short, I had an iPhone that died. I sent it to Apple care, they sent me a replacement which was dented. I phoned Apple and they told me to go into the store and they would swap it there for the trouble. I go to the store, explain my situation to the manager, he says np and sends me back to the Genius bar. I wait for 1.5 hours only to be told by the Genius that they cannot swap it out at the store unless the manager is okay with it. The manager comes over and tells me that I have to go back through Apple care.

At this point, I am pissed. Applecare told me to go in, so I did. Then the same manager, after hearing my story, made me wait for the Genius for 1.5 hours. Then, he comes over and tells me I am SOL. At that point, I told him that I was upset, Applecare sent me in, then HE told me to go to the Genius bar, (after hearing my story), and now, 1.5 in, he tells me he cannot help me.

Needless to say, I was pissed. He offers me 10% off of an accessory purchase, which really didn't set too well with me. So, anyways, I told him that I was upset, yada, yada, etc. Now when I go in, I know he knows who I am and I just prefer to skip the drama of going back there for any issues.

BTW Applecare ended up giving me $100 off a $300 purchase after hearing about the drama. (I had to call to set up a return.) I thought that was way more than they should have done, but, I am now a happy customer.

Anyway, this is the whole, 'long story', that I really didn't care to get into here.

So, if anyone wants this iMac, just let me know. I am not a scammer or someone trying to get a free iPod. Once again, ebay feedback is mgheath. 100% Positive and I have sold TONS of stuff on this board.

nospleen and I have done a fair number of transactions together and vouch for him. In fact, I'm willing to deal with him.

Quick question, did you purchase an ipod and/or printer on the same receipt, or does the receipt just show the iMac purchase?

I'm calling dibs. :)

I'm ready to purchase. :)

I purchased it by itself only. I used the edu discount and the remaining balance of a $108 gift card and the rest via my debit card. So, the receipt only shows the imac on it.

Is this the stock model, or have any bto options been added to it? If I agreed to buy it, would you be willing to put it up as a listing on ebay so that I would be protected by Paypal buyer protection program? Aren't you worried about taking another hit in Paypal fees? If you would list it on ebay, I would gladly reimburse you the listing fee to gain peace of mind.

I for one hate eBay's fees. I'd rather take a hit on PayPal fees rather than both PP and eBay.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't PayPal already protect buyers/sellers without having to go through eBay? All you have to be is verified through PayPal and have a confirmed address. Just make sure that the item is insured and has some sort of tracking number.

It says right in the title "newest model", and I think it's pretty safe to assume it's not the Exteme Edition for $1600.

Hello, 0's and 1's agreed to buy the iMac last night if a return goes well today. I will know by 1 CST if the deal is 100% done. I gave him my word that I would hold it until then.

If he does not buy it, then bennyek has the next dibbs. He PM'd about 45 minutes before you posted stating he would pay asap if I still had it.

Also, it is the newest stock 24" model that sells for 1799.

If he does not buy it, I will post back here for you.

Good call, it is not the extreme edition. That would almost be as bad as when I sold my old isight for like $55 on here before checking the prices on ebay!

I would prefer to stick with my 20", but I can't get used to this screen color shifting. :(

Does this mean you are through with Apple? You had the whole iPhone ordeal and then sell your new iMac. Is Vista on your horizon?
