Is the Filthy Critic really dead?

I just popped over to see what the latest review from the Filthy Critic and the site states:
"The Filthy Critic is Still Dead.
He was killed in a bicycle
collision late on August 7, 2003.
He died the way he lived--wobbling
aimlessly in the slow lane."

Is this is a joke? Has anyone heard about his death, if it's true that statement seems kinda harsh doesn't it?

but as it turns out the Filthy Critic is Dead, but it's creator Matt Weatherford is not. good to hear, but sad to see Filthy go, I did enjoy some of his rants. Oh and apparently Mr. Weatherford is going to focus on screenwriting, apparently he belives he can write something better than the garbage hollywood is producing, we shall see.
