I was thinking if with some engineering, one could use the shell of an old SE/30 or 68k, take it's guts out, and stuff an iMac in. That'd be cute.

I remember seeing a Mac Plus that someone had put a G3 inside...

I can't find the link, but I'm sure someone else here has seen it?

And use the same monitor? That would be a little silly. I'd prefer the kegerator G3 from MW Tokyo.

The Colo(u)r Classic is the machine to do this to, my CC is a G3 350mhz, this is the club page - http://homepage2.nifty.com/Kan-chan/

Here is a CCII G3 - http://homepage2.nifty.com/Kan-chan/ccg3.html

Check out Applefritter.com for crazy mac mods!

I remember that too. It was in these forums, wasn't it? Sheesh... it's too late at night/early in the morning to be thinking... :p

Oh my God! The color classic II, I totally forgot about that!! It was the direct predecessor to the iMac. A bit of an ugly beast, if you ask me, and I think it was aimed directly at the education market. That would be funny to replace the guts with a G4 and a superdrive, though. Good find Ensign!

My CC rules! I really like the machine, it took me and a friend a few days to get it up at G3 power, its running OSX.1!
