I live down here is Southern Cali. Dana Point. I just read a store about gas prices across the nation and I was just wondering what everyone is paying where they live. Right now they are saying AZ is the highest at $2.02. Even though for the last 2 weeks the cheapest i seen it in this area is 2.19 to 2.69 for the cheap stuff (87) forget the 91 or 93 if you are in the Midwest.
Oh to all those people overseas yes I know you pay a hell of a lot more then we do and I am sorry but this is America we don't put up with that crap. We go find someone that has it. (Put your thought here on how we get it) :)

2.08 for the low end crap out here where it's cheap, some of the gas station went up to 4.xx in the past couple weeks.
Gas can be anywhere from .20-.30 higher as you move into the heart of the valley.
Gas is flowing again through a diversion around the break...

What is this price? USD per gallon? Prices for standard unleaded in the UK are around 75p per litre. This is £3.42 per gallon (UK: are US gallons the say?). This is $5.39 per gallon.
Now whilst this is very expensive it may be one of the reasons that the UK is at least getting close to reducing it's emissions towards agreed levels. The US is one of the worst offenders in terms of pollution per person. Perhaps a rise in fuel prices would encourage you guys to walk/use public transport/cycle places?

I thought that those prices were ridiculously high compared to what we have over here, but then realised you are probably talking about gallons, not litres, right?

Gas pipeline broke August 8, they used the avgas line to create a patch around the bad section.
Still needs repair, but something is flowing since Sunday.

Remember the fuel strike a few years ago, man that was crazy.... and so obviously not going to work...
London isn't actually that bad, cheaper than my home town of Coventry and way cheaper than some garages in Yorkshire...
I remember hiring out a Laguna V6 in the middle of the fuel shortage, I called into an Esso garage on the way to Camden (hire co's never leaving any decent amount of fuel in the car) so I needed to fill up pronto, and the only stuff they had was the ultra-hyper-super-expensive-race-car-octane-type-unleaded, and it cost me £80 (USD $120) to fill the thing to the brim...
That said, it helped me cover London to Yorkshire in nicely under 2 hours... heh-heh!!

It is $1.69 a gallon here in central Minnesota for the cheap (87 octane) stuff. I'm lucky though since I have a company car and they pay for all of my gasoline.

I want to find this gas station! I have driven all around Dallas yesterday trying to find the cheapest 93 octane, until I almost ran out, and this was the cheapest by NW Highway@Skillman: 89 oct - $1.59, 93 oct - $1.79 per gallon.

It seems so far where I am is one of the lower prices...still damned expensive though for this area.
I normally pay around $1.48-$1.50 per gallon for 93 octane...87 usually runs around $1.19-$1.25 I believe?

I paid $151.9 per gallon a week ago Tuesday for 87 octane at BJ's wholesale club and Sam's Club was equally priced in Orlando, Floriduh.
The retailers were $154.9 up to $169.9 in tourist areas.
Yes, okay, that's very expensive. :D They like to gouge us here since the tourists visit us.

Has anyone chimed in from the Bay Area (Northern California)? I'm not positive, but I believe we have the highest gas prices in the country.
I filled up the other day with regular unleaded for $2.19/gallon It's a freaking crime, I swear.

To fill up the tank of my Toyota Corolla cost $1.50 in total (91 octane).
To fill up my fathers Toyota FourRunner cost about $3 (95 octane).
In my country gas is cheaper than water, a regular 1/2 litter of water cost $1.5!!!

Here in Los Angeles regular unleaded is $2.11/gallon. I just drove out here from MN and gas prices seemed fairly reasonable until I hit the Nevada/Utah area. I really hope it goes down in the next couple weeks, because this is insane.

Just filled up again today it was 2.24 and that was the best I could find in this area.
I here the local Cosco here is way cheaper but if I wanted to put that kind of gas in my car I would just the hose in the front yard and put water in the tank.

Try around $1.40 to $1.60.
Just checked the local Mobil in Bridgeton, Maine:
$1.759
$1.839
$1.929
Too many people know about the area around here.
BTW: Free gas for anyone who doesn't tell others that Maine exists. :D

as much as that sounds, it's a lot cheaper in real dollars from when i first started driving in the'70s and gas was around a dollar or less a gallon but minimum wage was about 3.15 or 3.35 an hour
gas is actually still very cheap because if it were really as much as the gas crisis years, decades ago, we wouldn't still be riding around alone in ford trucks and suvs...times are easy, gas-wise...wait until some gas station charges three dolars or more a gallon

Robbie,
You maybe right, but you try living in TN or AL where public transportation is extremely rare. Public transportation around here is a bus system that is limited to only downtown Memphis, Nashville, and Birmingham......forget the rest of the cities and towns in these states......you won't find even a bus to ride in. My wife's family lives like 15 miles from town and at least an hour from any decent size city where you can actually find a McDonalds or Subway sandwich shop. If her family wants to go shopping for anything, they have to go to Florence, AL which is an hour away. It isn't even safe to ride a bicycle around here since they don't even have sidewalks in some towns and cities.......good luck finding a safe place to ride! My wife and I both have to commute an hour to two hours to get to our jobs.....and we see mostly woods, corn, cotton, or soybean fields, or river....some towns and cities are as far apart as 20+ miles from each other......you try getting around without a car and see how far you get!

Here in Covington, TN it ranges between $1.59 to $1.79 for 87 octane...which is what I use.
Exxon was priced like $1.71 a gallon in 87 octane.....I don't know about the rest since I don't use the higher octanes......My wife does though and would know.
My dad said he is still getting his at around $1.43 in Edinboro, PA.
Memphis ranged between $1.65 to 1.89.
I am not sure about Boston....would need to ask my mom tonight....but I am sure it is probably pretty darn expensive since Boston is always expensive.
Last Friday, I got gas at $1.41....now I can't get it for less than $1.59...a big jump!

yes! the only downside i see is that the poor will suffer the most.
the rich (most often driving suvs, certainly not hybrids) will be able to afford it. the poor, driving their 12 year old cars, which guzzle gas also, will be screwed
that said, why not tax it enough to build some decent, and cheap public transport???
ahh, stupid US
