UPDATE: SOLD

Here's the skinny:

Two weeks ago I had a fit of madness and bought an Apple iBook when I should have been saving money for college. Now I've come to my senses and need to sell it, because after 10 days Apple won't take it back.

It's the 900MHz model on http://apple.com/ibook with a 12.1" screen (1024x768), combo CDRW/DVD drive, built in ethernet, modem, 2 USB ports, 1 Firewire port, and 256MB of RAM, with all of the original packaging and software CDs and cables/adapters.

It came with MacOS X 10.2.4, and I've updated to 10.2.6, and also installed a bunch of stuff via Fink (http://fink.sf.net) like XFree86, KDE, GNOME, Enlightenment, and a bajillion of my other favorite programs I normally run under Linux. I can wipe the hard drive and reload it with OSX 10.2.4, or leave it as is. Either way, You will receive the CDs yourself. I'm not keeping anything.

Optionally, I have about 22GB of mp3s/oggs on the 40GB hard drive of this iBook. I can leave them or not. I know it doesn't add much value, but there's a good mix of unheard of stuff as well as pop stuff, you may find some of it interesting.

I also have a 5GB original model iPod I might throw in as well, if you make a high enough offer. It is updated with the latest firmware for 5GB iPods, with the Mac HFS formatted hard drive (but as you know, you can switch it from HFS/FAT32 any time you want). Firewire cable and charger/adapter is included if you get that as well, along with a grey slip bag *and* a very nice leather slipcase with a belt clip. But I'm mostly interesting in selling the iBook. I will not sell the iPod alone.

Apple charges $1299 for this, and the base model comes with only 128MB, wheras this one has 256MB. As I said, it's brand new, it's been out of the box for not even a full 2 weeks, and only turned on a few times. There's nothing wrong with it, it's gorgeous, it's great, and I would LOVE to keep it, but college comes first.

I'm asking $1000 for the iBook. If you want the iPod as well, make an offer. You can reach me at gregday@ecsis.net

I'm willing to negotiate, as I have some random PC hardware to unload as well. I will take checks, money orders, and PayPal.
