Nice setup! I think you meant 4 x 1gb (Omni) and 2 x 512mb (Apple) right?

Hmm. New, it's $3325. So, it's dropped over $500 in 2 months?

Yup, especially since you can get refurbs for pretty cheap and memory is cheap nowadays as well. Just like the 2.2 ghz MBP's that were bought for $2100 2 months ago now sell for $1,650-$1,800, losing over $300 in value easily in 2 months.

Kay - thanks - so, I may have better luck on ebay, then?

Yes, but keep in mind, eBay fees are going to take quite a chunk of that, especially given it's high value (listing fees, eBay final value fees). That's why although you might get a bit more on eBay, with an item that valuable, you'd probably be better off trying to unload it somewhere else where you won't have to pay quite a high % of fees.

V&E - (by the way, Boondock Saints is one of my fav movies) - thanks for all the advice...
not sure what i'm going to do - I'm basically looking to possibly unload the mac pro in favor of a macbook pro; but don't want to take that much of a hit...
Thanks again,

They have been $2199 at the refurb store since last year. 2x2GB ram is $205 at Omni = Total $2404 is all you should have invested in it - plus sales tax on the $2199 of course.

You could also count the already purchased Applecare for the Mac Pro. For a system like that, it is a must have.

Bluetooth Module + $50
Applecare $200 educational price
X1900 XT + $350
Subtotal $2404

$ 3,004 is fair.

Now, we're talking.
I can probably do it for that price.

DZL, if you're honestly looking for a MacBook Pro, my suggestion is looking for a trade.
Also, if it's easier to unload it without the crazy nice video card, I'd be happy to sell you a 7300GT (standard in Mac Pro's now?) for pretty cheap. Then you could sell the other video card on ebay.

hmmm... something to think about - how much would you be asking for the 7300GT?
I'm a little hesitant to invest more money only to unload it --

I second the trade concept. Find someone who has a config you are after and you may even find someone willing to add some cash. I have seen several videographers who bought the MBPs with video editing in mind and then decided they wanted the extra umph of the MacPros and the storage capacity. You could probably find someone.
I, personally, would not take less than $2,500 for your system. When you factor in the video upgrade, BT module, and Applecare $2,500 is still a great deal even compared to an Apple refurb.
