I bought a new 12" iBook recently and was wondering if the apple prospeakers are compatible with it.

No. They use a propietary connector which also provides power to the speakers which no notebooks have (or even the G5s).

Someone was selling them for 30 bucks on campus, so I might pick them up anyways. brand new never opened. but thanks for the heads up.

the iFire (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/ifire/index.html) will connect Pro speakers to any audio-out source, including iPod, iBook, and PB...

Griffin also sells a device, its $100 and it has other uses to.

those speakers arent that good anyways. i would save your 30 dollars and put them into a jbl creature speaker foundation.
