I thought that this would be fun. Just run Xbench (make sure you have 1.1.1) on your Mac, submit it to the Xbench website (you might have to click the button in the upper right corner of the window to get the button down), and post the link to it here. I guess I'll start with my Dual 867 (http://ladd.dyndns.org/xbench/merge.xhtml?doc1=32136&doc2=1&setCookie=true). Oh yeah here's my iMac 15" 800 (http://ladd.dyndns.org/xbench/merge.xhtml?doc1=32157&setCookie=true) too. Big difference between them...

Xbench doesn't run well on my dual 800. Version 1.0 locks up the machine and 1.1.1 just quits unexpectedly.

I don't. I use a 12" PB for my computing. I just wanted to get OS 10.2 installed on it so i could use iTunes 4 and have it set up as my Rendevous Music Server for my house. Works pretty dang well for that, and if you had to browse the web or check email you could do it. But it is as slow as molasas!

Here's (http://ladd.dyndns.org/xbench/merge.xhtml?doc1=32425&doc2=1&setCookie=true) my Dual 1.25 GHz G4 w/ Radeon 9800.
Checking the OpenGL performance, the Radeon's drivers have room for improvement....

I don't trust Xbench on this one at all.
The Mac is a Dual 1.25 GHz (FW 800) G4.
I have had 3 different grfx cards in this Mac:
1) Radeon 9000 (OEM)
2) GeForce Ti (was the best at that time, as the Radeon 9700 wasn't retail)
3) Radeon 9800 Retail
Xbench version 1.0 showed better OpenGL results with the Radeon 9000 stlil in there, running 10.2.3.
Just do a search on 'Ernout"... you can see for yourself.
I play games like MOHAA/SpearHead, F1 CS 2000, Nascar 2003, RTCW, Tiger Woods...
As you would expect, the games FPS improved using the better cards. Results did vary enormously, though. And MOHAA/SpearHead had bad visual artifacts with the nVidia. Bad drivers????
The Radeon 9800 is by far the best gaming grfx card for your Mac. Maybe the Xbench results weren't too favourable, but I can tell you the gaming experince WILL improve. I dont know if a sub-1GHz Mac will do this card justice, though.
Nascar (all settings maximum possible, resolution: 1600 x 1200) let my CPUs be the bottleneck (or FSB...).
What's especially fun, is the ATi control panel, that lets you override the FSAA and AF settings of the games you play (see pic) ! I play RTCW, with the game settings 1024 x 768, all settings maximum possible. And the ATi Radeon 9800 control panel, set the FSAA on 4 x, and AF 4 x.
It is awsome!

well iam running a geforce 3 now which has been good but am ready for more. allready upgraded the cpu to a 1.33 just waiting to see those numbers before i hand over more money. i know the 9800 is a great card just a little surprised the mac community hasnt put to the tests yet. i guess the new g5 is overshadowing everything else.
