Not 100% sure but didn't 6.1 not work on a G5 and 7 did?
From the Ver 6.1 docs...
System requirements
Before you can install this Virtual PC for Mac version 6.1.1 update, one or more of the following programs must be installed on your computer: Virtual PC for Mac version 6.0 through 6.1.
In addition, your computer must meet the following minimum requirements:
Processor: Macintosh PowerPC, native G3 or G4 machines.
Operating system: Mac OS 9.2.2 or Mac OS X version 10.1.5 or later
Memory: 192 MB of RAM
Hard disk: 60 MB of available hard disk space is temporarily required to complete installation; after installation, the program requires 30 MB of hard disk space.
Programs: Virtual PC for Mac version 6.0 or later must be installed before you download this update.
Internet access: Internet connection through either an Internet service provider (ISP) or a network. Internet access might require a fee to an ISP; local or long-distance telephone charges might also apply.
From the web site about V7...

Virtual PC 7 has been redesigned to take advantage of the speed and capabilities of the new Mac G5 processor.

I might be interested in grabbing a VPC copy, but which would work best (for the money) on a PowerBook G4 867?
If 6.1 will have similar results as 7 no sense in spending the extra cash. If anyone knows, from experience preferably, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

There is not much difference, version 7 was a general update, and included support for G5 processors.
One copy of VPC 6.1 sold anyway, everything else (Including Office, atm) still available.
