I'm starting to think I'd like to get a 24'' iMac (I want to stay with the white model). Couldn't afford to do it without first selling my current machine, curious what you all think I might be able to get for it?
It's a 20'' white iMac, 2.16GHz, 3GB ram, 250GB HD, 2 years remain on apple care, no problems, no damage.
Thanks for any thoughts on this.

I'm not qualified to offer an estimate, but i would reccomend taking the extra ram with you and installing it on your new 24" if possible.

This is still just a feeler thread (unless the right offer comes along), but I'm thinking $1,000 is a little low given the maxed out memory and applecare. Thank you though.
I'm still interested in hearing what anyone thinks the computer is worth, here, ebay, craigslist, etc.
Thanks very much...

on apple.com they have this same refurbished model (less the upgrade RAM and applecare) for $1,049.
so i don't think you're going to get more than that, if even that much.

Mmm....probably around $1200 (shipped) since the refurb 20" goes for $1099 and the refurb 24" goes for $1449 - no Applecare of course.

I got my white 20" Core Duo for $800. Because your computer is a generation newer and has the upgrades, I'm going with the $1000-$1100 estimates. On eBay, you MIGHT get as much as $1150.

Just for a point of reference, I just sold a Core Duo iMac, 20", 2.0 GHz, with 2 GB RAM, and it went for $1100.00. So I'd expect to get at least that if I were you.

Where did you sell it? Because if you got THAT much for a Core Duo iMac, I'm selling mine!!

eBay is the place! Write a good listing, etc. Also, it had the original box, etc.

I gotta say, mine looks brand new, but I doubt I could get that much for it. I write good listings, and have had HUGE success from eBay (started out with an 800 MHz eMac, traded up to a 20" iMac Core Duo) but you got really lucky. Congrats!

You can get a new (not refurb) 24" white iMac for $1300 shipped from MacConnection. Even with AppleCare, I wouldn't think more than $1100.
