I'm looking for either an iBook or a PowerBook. Here's what I'm looking for:
- The laptop must have a Combo drive.
- The laptop must have at least a 20 Gb. HD.
Other than that, I'm looking for an installed AirPort card additionally (but not required). Also, carrying cases are a bonus.
I'm not looking to spend anything over $1000 (have to set a line someplace), so post what you have and what you want for it (shipped). Thanks!
BTW - you can get ahold of me on AIM at: JShidell
or via email at: ShidellJR30@uww.edu

now its my turn!!.. im on the prowl.. the search has begun. so i guess ill just use this same thread to ask people to email me at
berfmurret (at) yahoo (dot) com
and make me offers on your powerbook/ibook with combo drive that youre trying to sell..
i, as well, am wanting.. no - NEEDING to keep it under $1000.
specifically im looking at an ibook 800 w/ combo, either maxed or 128mb of ram, airport card, and a couple of months left on the warantee so i can put applecare on it myself. or if you have a 667 powerbook you want to offer then go right ahead :)

flukewurm, I may have what you are looking for, if you are still looking:
800Mhz iBook Combo
384 MB RAM
Airport Card
Aplle iBook Video adapter (S-video and composite video)
All original manuals, box, and accessories.
It does have 2 cosmetic flaws:
1)I accidentally got bugspray on the top and bottom of the case. It basically just put a "dull" spot on the case, without damaging the computer or the insides. It runs flawlessly, and the dull spots are only visible at the right angle in strong light.
2)The top middle of the trackpad is raised higher than the rest. It is not unattached or anything like that, and Apple has examined it and gioven it the "OK". It works great, but I want to be up front about it.
Let me know if you are still interested.
Regards,
Gus
P.S. It is still under AppleCare warranty until November

hrmm.. applecare till november.. :( that puts a damper on things.. you cant renew AppleCare Protection Plan can you?
i wouldnt be so worried about the cosmetic flaws. but the 384 mb of ram (id either want a fresh 128 so i can max it out and not worry about selling any ram sticks on ebay... OR the full 640 MB) and the soon-to-be lack of available apple care are kinda big turnoffs for me :(
thanx anyways...
sorry to be so picky. laptops are so much more likley to have things go wrong with them - and they are so much more expensive to fix. i NEED this warranty.

When I say AppleCare, I mean the one year warranty Apple provides with new hardware, not the 3 year plan you purchase separately. By tranferring ownership of the laptop to you, you can still buy AppleCare (the extended plan) for the laptop until November. I just wanted to clear that up. :) and I understand about being picky.

Gus
