This wasn't ment to be a digging up dirty laundry thread, but more of a compolation of things that have been said here that make you smirk (like my first example) thread.....

I remember a post in the "MacRumors Wiseguy/Jester" thread...

If you take a vote, I'll write in beez7777 on my ballot for making the single post with the highest laugh to length ratio, i.e., the post with the fewest words that made me laugh the most.

My sense of humor is probably warped from reading too many issues of Mad Magazine, but I'll tell you the only time I really laughed out loud at a post, and see if anyone else even remembers it.

It was last August in the The truth behind "Jag-Wire" thread. scem0 had proposed this interesting theory:

quote:
Maybe it means that aliens are taking over the earth, but they are doing it with wires that are jagged, and they have mind controlled steve jobs because they know that mac fanatics will do whatever he says, so he will use SJ as a pawn, who will in turn use us as pawns to take over the world and turn us into slaves. All of this was hinted at throgh the 1, kinda 2, words - Jag-wire.

Nobody replied for days, until beez7777 posted an 8-word sentence that made me fall out of my chair laughing:

quote:
You know, thats exactly what i was thinking.

one i remember is when all the hype about the iApps being sold and not bundled was going on a while back. i'm not gonna search around to find it, but will paraphrase here...

next purchaseable bundle will include Finder, TextEdit, and System Preferences.

i still laugh out loud sometimes when i start up System Prefs.......

Might not be the funniest, but it made me laugh - submission during the G5 hype....

I never thought I'd be writing to the forums, but just the other day I was going in the back door to my shop which is next to the loading dock of the local Apple Store and the Sweedish Bikini Team was unloading G5 Boxes! They were amazing, lots of curves, pointy but spherical in parts....

I tried to get a picture by hiding in a cabnet, but the camera's batteries died. I'll try and sneak back later and see if I can find anything.

i just went looking for some funny stuff and came accross this thread: My Gf got her 12" PB today (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=469334#post469334)

then the fun starts when mymemory joins in...

He's paraphrasing a line from the South Park movie. I'm sure he's just trying to bring up the line in humor, not to be offensive.

MR. GARRISON: Hi, children. Your mothers are all making me throw away my lesson plan and teach theirs.

STAN: Mr. Garrison, how come our moms arrested Terrance and Phillip?

ALL KIDS: Yeah!

KID: That’s ***.

MR. GARRISON: Oh, well, your moms are just upset. They’re probably all on their periods or something.

WENDY: [whispering to Gregory] Not cool!

GREGORY: Mr. Garrison, Wendy and I think that was a sexist statement.

MR. GARRISON: Well I’m sorry Wendy, but I just don’t trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn’t die. Anyway children, let’s start off with some vocabulary…

so everything was explained and people calmed down, and i had a good laugh!! :D

I've read some funny stuff on MacRumors but I agree with pivo6. This is quality stuff.

I have had the privilege of being backed up by AA once or twice whilst being flame-baited by trolls and it is very clear AA knows what he(?) is doing.

this is from possibly the best thread i've seen here at MR, where edesignuk blessed us with some seriously high-res pics of Angelina Jolie: A small present for any Angelina Jolie fans (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36275&perpage=25&highlight=angelina%20jolie&pagenumber=1)

it all started when the question was asked:

originally posted by Dahl

I wonder if these photos were digital from the beginning or done with regular film, they sure are huge.
Finally we can all print our own life size Angelina.

then i said:

by cb911 (me! :D )

i'm guessing these pics were taken with a regular camera, on film. i know that digital camera's have come along way, but i think it would be hard to get that sort of quality from a digi cam. although they might have been touched up in Photoshop already...

i know there are a few pro photographers that use digital cameras, but by far the majority still use film and just scan it.

but then came shadowfax with his rebuttal:

originally posted by shadowfax

ummm.... a good 4 MegaPixel Camera will get this size of image with great ease. these were probably taken with, if not a high dollar 35 mm camera, then a 6-odd MP camera. it would easily get this quality, and then some. that's why they cost $800-1000

then me again

by me

oops! i guess i haven't been keeping up with the latest tech.

one thing i can remember is Foevon (Foeveon?) technology. it doesn't need R, G & B CCD's seperately, it can have them all in one layer, so you can fit about triple the CCD's (or whatever captures the colour). digital cameras are going to be sweet when they come out.

then the funny bit:

bengt77 replied:

Hehe ... funny guy!

i had to laugh when i saw that. i didn't realise what i said, but i meant that digital cameras will be good when that Foevon tech gets into them. :D

Maybe I'm just a loser but... I always crack up when I read this quote. A MR member was using it as their sig, but I can't remember who it is, or I would recognize them. Here's the quote:

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

-- Terry Pratchett

That always makes me laugh... I must be a sicko freak! ;)
