With all the problem they are having with it a simple fix would just to replace everyones videocard :) This problem is very annoying... I guess the only way for them to fix now if they can't via software is too replace everyones motherboard

I thought i read the card was removable? Someone in here said they had had their video card replaced because it was faulty?

Unfortunately it shares the heatpipe with the CPU and is not an easy job from the pictures that I have seen. Its on a separate card, I believe.

Hopefully they go with nvidia since they don't make whacky drivers

This is a hardware issue as far as anyone can account for. Apple is working on a software fix to work around it. FWIW I've seen some very 'whacky' nVidia drivers over the years.

I don't believe its a software issue sorry.... I have both problems on windows and macosx both different drivers... Plus if it was software problem you'd think by the 3rd update it would be good by now but nope :) I see a recall comming soon......

Dude. I just said it was a hardware issue that they were trying to fix with a software workaround.

Reading comprehension much?

I'm sorry i was dropped as a kid.... I don't see how they can fix this via software..... Unless they disable some of the features of the card which is sucky way of doing things... Might as well have a geforce mx 2 card installed if they do that

I agree. If it cripples the card it's a no go. FWIW I have no lockups or artifacts what so ever.

I wonder if that means its only certian cards that have the problem..... Maybe i should hurry up and send it for repair and get a fully working card before they say its been fixed now and i have to use the half ass features

There was a post late last week about a batch of ATI cards going out with a faulty bios flash from the factory. (Something like that).

The problem is if they do cripple the cards with a software fix will they cripple everyone's cards "just to make sure". I would be wary of downloading any future updates from now on until reports come in about stability/improvements or otherwise.

I read that but a bios flash fixed it fully ...... If that was the case it would of been fixed now.....
