eBay auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330184886904)

New Bonus: If anyone from MacRumors wins this auction, I will throw in a free ZIP100 drive that is swappable into the drive bay on this Pismo, and 4 100MB ZIP disks. Just let me know if you are the winning bidder and are interested in getting these too.

This PowerBook is in perfect condition. The screen is absolutely flawless with no pink or blue discoloration, and no dead pixels. The trackpad is not shiny from wear. This is one of the greatest laptops every designed. All the internal components are easily accessible with a few small screwdrivers available at most hardware and electronics shops. The side bays are hot-swappable to change out batteries, optical drives, and even hard drives without shutting down the computer. This is a solid piece of machinery.
The specs are as follows:

• 500Mhz PowerPC G4 processor (upgrade worth $249)
• 14 inch LCD (1024x768)
• 60GB hard drive (pulled from a G4 Aluminum PowerBook)
• 768MB of RAM
• DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive
• 2x FireWire 400
• 2x USB
• S-Video out
• VGA out (supports monitor spanning!)
• 10/100 Ethernet
• Built-in 56k Fax/Modem
• PCM-CIA expansion slot
• 2x hot swappable bays
• AirPort Card Installed (802.11b)
• 10.4 installed

The battery included is a Newer Technology NuPower 7200 mAh high capacity battery worth $120. Also included is the original black plastic Pismo power adapter that is also in perfect condition. The PRAM battery has died (can be replaced for $30-40). If the battery drains completely, the clock will reset. This laptop can handle word processing, iTunes, email, IM, and basic internet tasks (including YouTube!). Using the FireWire port and an older version of iMovie or Final Cut Pro, you can even create basic home videos on this machine. The included Airport Card has the best range of any other card I have ever used and makes this laptop perfect for wireless web surfing. Note that while the optical drive says CD-ROM on the bottom, it is a Combo (CD-RW/DVD-ROM) Drive. Also included are two 'weight-saving' devices which are basically hollow plastic shells that you can slide into the hot-swap bays to reduce the weight of the machine without leaving a gapping hole.

Shipping will be to the lower 48 US states only. Local pick-up (63136) available upon request.

Guaranteed not DOA. If the buyer has difficulties initially, I will assist as I am able.

PM me an offer. I expect a Final Value of at least 500-550 on eBay.

FYI: a cpu upgrade that retails for $249 does NOT instantly add $249 to the price of the machine. Yes it will help get you a somewhat better overall price for the machine, but nowhere equal to the cost of the upgrade itself.......

same with the battery :p
