I am looking to see what I might be able to get for my MBP the specs are as follows.
MacBook Pro Wk 38 Manufactured
2.2GhzHz Core2Duo , 4MB cache
2GB DDR2
120GB HD
SuperDrive
15" 1440 x 900 LED Backlit screen (LG screen)
128MB Nvidia 8600GT Graphics
802.11 N Wireless
Perfect Battery with only 7 Cycles
New revision Apple Magsafe adapter.
I am including the following items:
All software that came with the laptop, original Box and packaging including plastics and covers!
Leopard upgrade disc
iLife 08' Retail box
Final Cut HD Retail Box
AppleCare Macbook pro Retail Box (unopened)
This MBP was a NEW replacement for one that I purchased in June 07 and had numerous problems with. This was replaced at my local Apple Store in Syracuse,NY. It is literally perfect in everyway, and completely free of any of the issues that have affected many MBP owners on these forums. The best part may be that the keyboard and touchpad have barely been touched!! I have a wireless MM and an apple wireless Keyboard that I have used from day 1.
I am looking to sell this because I also have an Alu iMac that I use much more frequently and Im no longer traveling for my job.
I am looking to get $2,200 for this plus shipping to US or Canada. With all the extras I am including this seems like a steal...

I'd trade you my Latitude D830 for it, I've got a thread about it if youre interested.

it might be easier to sell if you separate the software from the computer, imo

So you think just sell the MBP separate? what would folks think is a fair asking price? I want to be fair and give folks a deal but at the same time not screw myself in the process...

It's tough because the refurb price on this is $1699.

This is true but the buyer of a refurb still takes their chances on a yellow tinted samsung screen, keyboard issues, and the various other MBP issues.
This is guaranteed to have none of those... plus Apple care. Guess i would take 2K or best offer for the MBP & Apple care together.

A refurb has no chance of those issues. Apple goes through quality control twice so buying a refurb is like buying a new mac without issues.

Agreed, you are limiting your market by bundling the software and expecting $100's for it. Break up the bundle.

Return policy on the refurbs as well. Sell the iLife separate, as that would come with the refurb.

i would say $1550/$1600... but then again, we're not ebay

Your $2200 is a little steep even though the MBP is pristine. I would say around 1700-1800 here. Even though the computer is in new condition it is used and would be hard to sell as new.
selling the software separately should yield you 1700-1800

Everyone is being extremely generous with those estimates.
It doesn't matter what it is, it is a used 2.2 that is available straight from Apple for $1699.
Claims or refurb or not are insignificant because you get what is an essentially new computer as well plus one year warranty from date of purchase and the option of paying how you like from the apple website.
I would say ~$1550 is what your laptop is worth. Asking $2200 for your laptop is like saying you want a $20 for a $10 bill.

Don't forget that you DO have to pay taxes when ordering from Apple.com
That'll cost someone about an extra $125, bumping the cost of a refurb to ~$1824+

Thanks for all the replies. So how would $1900 including the 3 year unopened Apple care on it sound? To me this is a deal.. Thoughts?

Perhaps on eBay. Here, you'll be lucky to get $1800.

Post your computer on ebay. I just sold a CD 2.0 on ebay including applecare for 1700.
People pay way too much on ebay, and you may as well take advantage of it. That mbp is 1800 approx with tax without applecare refurb straight from apple. Figure 150 for the applecare (you can find that off ebay for about that price)
So... you could probably get about 2000 on ebay with the software, maybe a little bit more if you have the original box and you bought it new.
Here you will only get about 1700 tops for all that.

Not so in my case I live In Delaware so I don't pay any taxes on any of these items. If it cost $1999.00 then $1999.00 is what I pay. Tax free shopping is really the only thing we got going in Delaware.
But I agree a refurb system from apple is basically a new system so I would try to stay around that price range.
