Thanks. We have some other stuff lined up through january, but we're waiting for confirmations.

Plus, we got accepted to be on iTMS through the CD baby thing, so that'll be good. It's fun and something worth looking forward to. :)

I know you were being sarcastic. Just was saying...

I hope people like it. We're trying to do something a bit different than the usual loud guitars, screaming vocals thing.

So yea... I'm always curious for opinions.

agreed

the band sounded pretty good. a new style of music for me. so it'd take some getting used to. but at the same time, it's got a different sound

and i like the girl's voice.

might i also ask... what's the name mean/from/etc?

the name is an african word, western nigerian, or yoruba to be exact.

It essentially means "Serendipity" or being in the right place at the right time

i really liked it, i thought it was nice and soothing. i might have turned the opening drone down a db and turned the vocals up a db but other than that i really liked it, i think this will be in my currently played playlist for a while. i'm also interested in getting a cd into the iTunes Music Store through cdbaby (once it's finished of course) , let me know how that goes for you!

I liked it. I would have shortened that opening drone by a bit. It just went on too long otherwise it's a fine effort.

Jello-Man, you're all over the place. Take a nap, or have a hamburger or something. :D

I agree on the opening sound being a bit long. The others think it "establishes" the riff. So its all good. ;) Not preferred but not offensive.

Once we start doing the iTunes thing (we're going to re-record this and 4 others for an EP) i'll let you know how it goes. It was like, $75 bucks I think for each album.

And you have to submit a demo or something before hand.

It certainly wasn't bad.

And I agree the first part was a bit long.

I don't really like the woman's voice, but my sister would love it. I tend to like female singers that have good voices in the conventional sense. Like Celine Dion or something (although I don't really like her).

It's funny you say that about emily because.... this is the second band we've been in, and in the first, her singing was a bit more "coventional" in the sense that she sang more accessible melodies. But i've noticed with this project, she's trying to convey a mood...I dunno if that's what you mean... or if it's something in the timbre of her voice....

I must admit, Celine has a fine voice. But she wasn't available to sing for us. ;)

If you wanna hear a REALLY unconventional voice, check out the cocteau twins-- beautiful and operatic, yet SO darn unusual and original

Yea. I have. it's pretty darn good. the chick (who's SO SO SO SO SO hot) was in Mono for awhile who are stellar...and i think her pairing with Robin Guthrie is a great move. Oh. and she's HOT. and her name is what, like Sibohan De Mare or something.

BUt yea. I do prefer Liz's vox from Cocteaus. And she's hot too. :D

I still think the intro is a bit drawn out. I also agree on the tone of it, but that's just me. The rest of it sounds good, the vocals come across nicely.

But then again, who am I to critique. I'm not a musician. ;)

Toni has an amazing sounds like 15 women singing at once kind of voice...

The music, is pretty hard hitting stuff though... in an industrial kind of way!! very heavy, but with solid beats and basslines!

She also did the lead vocal on 'Original' by Leftfield from "Leftism'... ;)

ok. well while i haven't heard most of that music you speak of. not sure i'd be into it

but while we're on the subject of female singers. i generally don't get into them. i mean, i can appreciate their good voices. but i have a hard time getting into them enough to buy or listen a lot.

one singer whose voice i really love, but still don't want to listen to much is the singer for "the sundays"... man. great freaking voice

on a harder note... there's a punk/hardcore band (all girl, since defunct) call morgan storm that is emotional and awesome... worth a free download eh?

http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/345/morgan_storm1.html

both of those songs are good

and the singer did a solo song on there:

And Moxie, shame shame shame on you for never having heard that song. It's one of THE best albums of ALL time ("Leftism" is the title of the album).

She's in Curve also? Not heard much of them, but I do remember "Chinese Burn" by them, that's a good tune that one.

Yeah... she's the honey on 'Original'.... :D

I know, moxie and Leftfield... *tut tut*, it be your job evo, to play him the album when he comes and visits ya!! ;)

And yep, she's the lead in Curve.... 'Chinese Burn' is the song that Sony used to launch the Minidisc... :D

Wicked, skill... etc etc!!

Sorry to butt in, but I really liked it! Nice and mellow, and it does sound like it would be used in a movie or something. Great vocals. I really like her voice.

I must admit, when I first heard the beginning, I was a bit suspicious that this was some crappy amateur tune, but when the drum beat started I began getting more interested. Finally, when the vocals came in, I was hooked!

Good luck with your band! :)

I must say that I am thoroughly impressed with the song Omolara has made available for previewing. I think it is a very intriguing piece with a lot of heart and depth. I anxiously await to see this group perform. I find it very, very hard to believe something so mezmerising has cultivated in such a hillbilly, redneck town such as this.

Omolara, I raise a toast to you and the trail you are blazing in this small minded town. Surely, you will rise above those who would attack or condemn such a valid effort to be unique and intelligent.

Sincerely,

The Undeniable Reverend Robbert J.
