View Full Version : Feeler: Asus EEE PC (12 GB's of space) 1 GB of ram

So I bought an Asus EEE PC (White) for 399 dollars, barely used it. Looks brand new.
Comes with 8GB SDHC card for a total of 12 GB's of space
I installed a gigabyte of Crucial ram in it (instead of 512MB)
Windows XP Home Edition installed OEM (Disk not included)
The only downside is this:
Right now I can't find the restore disk (that's the disk to restore it to the default Xandros OS that comes with it. I might find it, but right now I can't).
However if you want I can install your Linux of choice (say Ubuntu, Xubuntu, etc) and ship it with that DVD
Thanks. :)
EDIT: Yes upgrading the ram voids the warranty.
EDIT: Willing to do trade with an iBook G4 with a 1 GHZ processor and Airport extreme.

You should probably mention that the upgraded RAM, voids the warranty. Man does Asus stink.
That being said, looks like a sweet piece of machinery.

If you're selling it on these forums (or really anywhere) you have to include the XP disc.

On these forums, you could probably get about $250-300. Ebay may be your best bet.

Since you upgraded the RAM, the 2 year warranty is void.

this seems like a low ball range, given that these are pretty hard to find. given that ebay and paypal fees are roughly 10% and the 8gb sd card is roughly worth $45-$50 (depending on the class) i'd think that close to the full retail price $370 is more reasonable.

That won't hold up over time. At some point someone will get denied warranty coverage, get denied, and start a class action. An enterprising lawyer might even start one up before the first claim is denied. Anyways, that sort of warranty invalidation claim is specifically illegal in the US (and probably most other countries).

This is apparently not true.

I'll offer $350 shipped to NY.
Considering that nothing is voided with the upgrade of the RAM, $350-$450 makes sense.

Ok, as my last offer seems to have been a lowball, I'll go $400 shipped to NY.
