I've got a stock PCI card pulled from a 733 Quicksilver G4, VGA and ADC out, no DVI. I was going to throw it away.

The same card mentioned here. (http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g4/stats/powermac_g4_733_qs.html) NVIDIA GeForce2 MX graphics card with 32 MB of SDRAM

It's in London, UK. You can have it for free + shipping of $12. Paypal only. Not sure whether it would get there before Xmas, though.

PM me if you're interested.

That card is an AGP card unfortunately.

OP, I've found its easier to flash a card in a PC.

Got any friends that you can open their box for 20 minutes or so? :D

I've never had much success flashing cards inside of a Mac.

I'll take that AGP card if the OP doesn't want it.
$12 shipped to the USA, you say? :apple:

yeah that's just it. i don't know anyone with an agp pc :(. what's even worse is that i can't locate a mac rom for the 256mb 9800 pro. maybe i bit off more then i can chew:p lol

edit:
ok i just found a few pc motherboards and i think they have agp slots on them. so i think i might just rig up one of those bad boys and flash my card on those. hopefully the work in the first place :p

and BV, i think i'll still buy that off you to ride me over until i can get my flashed or buy another one that's already compatable

OP has first option to buy: OrangeSVTguy, you've got the details. If you've changed your mind let me know, so davedecay can have it.

ok good news. i found an intel desktop board motherboard with an agp slot. threw a hdd with win98 some ram and a ps and started it up and after installing like a million drivers for it, i think it will work to flash my agp video card. now hopefully it will work because the computer is kinda old.

it's a Pentium III with MMX
933
133 bus
384mb

ok i got this computer running now(typing on it now). this computer should be effecient enough to flash the agp card right?

on a side note:
this old pc is pretty zippy and surfing with IE 4.0.
sucks that on board graphics only supports vga resolution and 16 colors :(

and davedecay, i'll be buying that card after all anyways. i'm gonna throw it in my g3 when i'm done. sending money now.

an AGP card won't fit into a G3.

I guess it didn't work out for u . . i found the 9800 your selling on ebay.
Do you know what went wrong?

yeah that's funny that you found that! :D

i replaced the heat sinc with a bigger one but apparently there wasn't good enough contact and over heated the card :( i even had an 120mm fan blowing on it temporary until i bought a vga arctic cooler for it. damn and that card was running great and all on my mac too lol. oh well it's actually going for more in my auction then what i paid for it in the first place... go figure. gotta love the exchange rate of PC to Mac lol. i think i'll just buy 128mb version with the arctic cooler on it already.

and flashing on the mac is really easy too.

is there a way of fixing it?
