I have some stuff I can trade or sell:
- Mac-compatible PCI Wireless-N card ($60), no 5.0GHz operation

- two 120GB 2.5" USB LaCie external drives. ($50 apiece)

- Stock AGP video card from Sawtooth ($10)

- 2x256MB PC133(iirc) RAM from my Sawtooth ($20)

- 2x128MB PC133(iirc) RAM from my Sawtooth ($5)

- Belkin Wireless-G/10-100Mbps router ($20)

- DVDs (all in good shape, in boxes): Edit: stopped caring, nevermind ;)

All electronic parts can be shipped in static bags, I think.

I included the Feeler tag because I want to have an open and fair discussion about prices. I don't want anyone to be cheated and I don't want this thread to go unanswered because people think I'm asking for idiotic prices, talking too much, etc. If I'm asking a ridiculous amount for something, let me know and I'll try and work on it.

All payments preferably done through Paypal, I'll pack and ship things out as soon as possible (probably not until Wednesday due to holiday stuff and complications), etc. I am bad at estimating shipping but I'll do what I can. Listed prices are without shipping, generally, because I am hoping people will buy more than one thing.

Hope you guys can help me out. Thanks!

I have a Celeron D 2.53 GHz, mobo, 512MB RAM, and a Gigabit Ethernet PCI NIC.

Mobo has 2 IDE channels, ATA/133, and 2 SATA ports.

Based off of Intel i865G.

Either the Celeron, or a 2.4 GHz P4 Northwood.

The board has Gigabit Ethernet I think, I dont remember, but I have an Intel Pro 1000MT PCI card.

Are the HDDs SATA or IDE? You dont specify. Thats mainly what I'm interested in, is HDDs.

Sorry, will update. The two 400GB's and 250GB are PATA.

Your board sounds great. Is it ATX? How many PCI slots? PCIe/PCI-X? If there's a model number I'll try and check it out.

Mini-ATX. Its an Acer OEM, but was built by MSI.

Very reliable board, havent had a single problem with it at all.

Board number is MS-6772.

It has 4 DDR 400 slots, and can take up to 4GB of RAM, as well as it has USB 2.0, with 4 built onto the back, and 4 more via headers. AGP 8X, etc.

Also has built-in video, which works fine as a server.

I was using this for Linux, but I've only fired it up once in the past two months, and I'm trying to consolidate.

That sounds pretty snazzy to me -- about exactly what I was looking for. How much/what are you looking for in exchange?

Reached an agreement for a PC motherboard with ReanimationLP. Internal PATA hard drives no longer for sale.

Um... I think so. It's wireless and it's a Mighty Mouse :) I might be missing something, though.

can you post pictures of the 120gb external hardrives?

can you post pictures of the 120gb external hardrives?

Sure.

You'll notice two cords from each hard drive with USB connectors. One is for data and one is for power -- as I understand, some machines do not supply sufficient power through the USB connector to power the drives, and so the second cord is provided. However, I've used these with a MacBook and Mac mini and both provided enough power to run them fine, so you probably won't need to worry about having two cables for each drive.

Here (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2350/2114498518_acf37599bb_b.jpg) is a picture of them, with one facing up and one facing down. Here (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2018/2114498506_20d1db0b80_b.jpg) is both face up. I tried to photograph the backs of each of them, with serial numbers (here (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2228/2114498524_d50278539b_b.jpg) and here (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2070/2114498508_12ac27806f_b.jpg)), but they ended up being too blurry.

How old are the HDs? Were they bought from Apple? I heard FireWire is better for external HDs... what is the disadvantage of these two units (pardon my ignorance of externals).

How old are the HDs? Were they bought from Apple? I heard FireWire is better for external HDs... what is the disadvantage of these two units (pardon my ignorance of externals).

I bought them earlier this year (sorry, can't remember the month... August?) directly from LaCie. I've barely used them.

Firewire vs. USB is sort of a matter of usage and opinion. Firewire is less common and more expensive, but has higher sustained throughput than USB 2.0 and allows booting PPC Macs. These disks will boot Intel Macs without problem, though.

From my (admittedly imperfect) understanding, firewire is largely preferable because of its sustained speed. However, these aren't particularly fast drives (2.5" [notebook] size) and are more geared toward people who want to take a lot of movies or music on the road with them or want a small and painless Time Machine volume. I think all 3.5" external hard drives require a somewhat bulky AC adapter, should have a fan to keep the drive cool, and are generally just plain larger and more of a pain in the neck. These drives, though, since they're laptop drives, are designed to run with less cooling. They're also smaller, slimmer, lighter, and sexier ;)

So basically it's just a matter of your priorities. If you're doing a lot of work with Photoshop and want an external drive to use as a scratch disk, then no -- these aren't the drives you're looking for. If you just want a small drive to backup on or take on trips, these are perfect.

Some may disagree. *dons flame suit*

Sorry, I already have a person who has agreed to pay me. I'll let you have it if he backs out.

Edit: Mighty mouse sold.

Unlisted the iPod nano and iPod shuffle as well as some other things.

The prices for the PCI Wireless-N card ($60) and the two 120GB LaCIE external drives ($50 apiece) now cover shipping. I don't think I can go any lower than that and still maintain my (admittedly fragile) grasp on sanity.

These are probably not the drives you're looking for ;) 4200 or 5400 almost certainly. Do run very cool, though:)

I think so, but I am on vacation right now (watching my wife swim around naked) and don't have the card with me.

If you're in a hurry, this probably ain't for you, since I'm on vacation and posting from my iPhone. But yes, it does have the original AC adapter.
