Hi, before this Powerbook heads off to eBay(groan), I'm looking to sell a 15" 1.5GHz Powerbook G4 that I purchased in August 2004. I'm currently using my SR MBP while in college and no longer need the Powerbook.
Cosmetically, it's in excellent shape and has been relegated to a life atop my desk and has only traveled aboard an airplane as a carry-on once. There is no discoloration atop the wrist pads, no dents, dings, owies, etc., although there is a small scratch on the on the bottom that can only be seen at the right angle(I suspect said scratch was acquired when a bumbling TSA employee carelessly put my baby in a bin for x-ray). When I mean "baby", I mean that in a figurative sense as I do not have any rugrats of my own yet, and would never fathom placing them in a plastic bin to be x-rayed, however exasperating they may be.
Specifications:
Processor: 1.5GHz PowerPC G4
Memory: 1.25GB(1x1GB+1x256MB)
Display: 15.2-inch LCD (NO dead pixels & display was replaced via AppleCare)
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 w/128MB of DDR SDRAM
Hard Drive: 80GB Ultra ATA/100; 5400RPM
Optical Drive: 4x SuperDrive DVD+/-RW CD-RW
USB Ports: 2(USB 2.0)
Firewire Ports: 1(400) 1(800)
Modem: 56k v.92
Airport: 802.11b/g
Bluetooth: 1.0
Ethernet: 10/100/1000BASE-T
The PB ships with Panther (10.3) installed(will do a clean install, although I suspect anyone who buys this will likely upgrade to either Tiger or Leopard), all original packing materials, system install discs, and an extra Apple battery. Coconut battery meter reads Battery1: 3955mAh/4400mAh with 154 Battery-Loadcycles Battery2:
4319mAh/4400mAh with 32 Battery-Loadcycles. Neither battery fell under Apple's battery recall.
I'm well aware of the costs of a refurbished Macbook and have no illusions of anyone here willing to pay an exorbitant amount for a 3+ year machine, but I was hoping for something in the neighborhood of $640+shipping(insured). I am more than willing to be flexible and negotiable. I will only ship to confirmed U.S. addresses via PayPal.
