This is just about my dream computer...except that it's not a mac. The built in minidisk, as well as FM, Cable, AV sound & video, and optical ins and outs are incredible features!! Plus...those speakers probably sound great. If only Apple made a pro computer with those features...

I know not all of you need features like that, but I would love it!!

P.S. It says that it has a DVD-RW drive. I thought that Sony and HP supported the DVD+RW format... Do you think this is because the fundamental problems with DVD+ as opposed to DVD-? Did Sony switch?

I love Sony. My Sony CD player, Tuner, VCR, and TV have worked great for years. But some of the more complicated electronics from Sony have a short life span.

My MiniDV cam, DVD player, and DAT deck have all been to a repair shop at least once. Sony has always horored their warranties - but suspiciously all three failed within 2 months of experation of coverage. Hmm?

So - the bottom line is that the same questions remain with Sony as with any PC maker:

1. What is the quality of their components?
2. What is the quality of their tech support/customer service?
2a. Why is their site filled with pork? Does it have to take that long to load?

Not bad at all :D if you want style but in a PC then it looks like there's only one thing for it...a VAIO!

I have to admit that I like that system! However, my Dual 1Ghz + 17" apple lcd does look really good as well!! Add to that my decent music system + you have a great setup.

The Quicksilver G4's clearly surpass this recent VAIO in design. Sony does have excellent style--I'd put them just below Apple on the style list, but you can't run OS X on that VAIO.

So the style seems moot.

'Its not a Mac', 'it doesn't run OSX'You seem to be forgetting its running Windows XP, that alone is reason enough not to consider it. Sure its got some nice features, but if you did a test where you put a dual G4 with 17" Apple display/Apple speakers and iSub, Apple would blow it out of the water design wise.

The one thing they do have that Apple is lacking is the whole digital audio setup. Apple needs to get on the ball with that.

Like Steve said in an interview with TIME magazine. "Sony copies us like crazy" He is very right! They have this digital lifestyle thing, sound familiar?
Sony loves to copy Apple, because Apple makes such cool stuff!

Saw the small phrase under the picture?
'monitor sold seperatly'
Add price of a 22" screen, and we'll be around the price of quicksilver range
price is just 200$ lower than a G4 single 1Ghz.
BUT without all GREAT soft that Apple puts with every Mac.

And further, wintel is only going for speed not quality, where are all the great programs Like Apple provide.
