Hey,

I'm blogging here because I can't connect directly with Apple through email.

I H_A_T_E_ iPods! Got one for Xmas. Setup was HORRIBLE and after getting it all working, I found out my brand new nano was defective - will not charge - dies after USB cable is disconnected!

And what's with only being able to mount an iPod on a single computer? What brillant nincompoop came up with that? Sent mine back for a refund; I will never purchase another Apple product again as long as I live.

My MICROSOFT ZUNE works great everywhere - no Apple limitations and no defects! Don't buy Apple!

You're preaching to the wrong choir here saying not to buy Apple. Sorry for your bad nano experience. Perhaps you could have tried a second one with a free replacement. Most people love their iPods, which is why you see them everywhere.

I wonder if you have left it to charge longer[oernight] it might have worked flawlessly.

This is a forum, not a blogging site. It's also the forum for the iPod Touch, not the Nano. Clearly you have nothing to discuss, and no questions to ask that are relevant to this forum.

What a pointless thread.

I guess the same guy that made the rule that you can connect your iPod on up to five computers.

What setup?
With iPods there's no setup, you just connect it to a computer with iTunes, let it sync and it's done.

Thanks for the invaluable information.

Funny, every Apple product I have ever purchased has worked flawlessly.

And by the way, at least Apple provides Windows support for their products, unlike the Zune.

Lining up the dock adapter with the slot on the iPod can be extremely difficult when setting up your iPod. One time when I wasnt looking i missed it completely! I had to actually look at what I was doing in order to get it in there, the horror!

Actually you can connect your iPod to any number of computers. But if you auto sync with a new computer all the other music on the iPod will be erased. I'm guessing this was the OP's point.

Of course you can manually sync (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61675) with many other computers (is there a limit to this?).

hah! i used to think that apple was bad too. that all their products were complete crap. til the invented the multi-touch interface that won me over. computers that can't get viruses! wow. the thing i like about apple now is that they take time in making their products instead of rushing.

I installed Vista. Big mistake. I'm going back to XP. What a systems hog.

Guys & Gals,

Look at his name and number of posts. This is his first and probably last. He probably doesn't even own a Touch. Come on.

EDIT: He doesn't own a Touch, a nano. He is even in the wrong forum. Go figure. Ha ha.

You know what he's right. I'm going to smash my 3 iPods, my 2 macs, and the 70 macs at work. I'm going to replace them with a sweet new PC and a Zune. The rest of the money can go on support for said PC/Zune combination.

Hi OrangeCuse44,

I would like to correct you, I'm not preaching anything... I would not even have posted to this forum if Apple had a way of contacting them directly. I did this to get the discuss I feel for Apple off my chest.

And, BTW, the gal who helped me with the setup is on her THIRD iPod replacement and with plenty of warrentee period still to go.

Also, can you put a file on your iPod along with the music? You all ready know the answer is NO. Either music and pics or the whole thing is just a removable drive - don't you find this extremely limiting? If not, then I guess all you do is listen to music...

Hi snowshine,

I left it plugged in for about 4½ hours...

Butman your in the wrong forum. And none of us care about how you feel about Apple. Go call Apple and vent your frustration there.

I thought that iPod Nano's had DisK Mode....

Aren't the iPod Touches the ones that do not allow Disk Mode?

Please, keep your MACs, I've got an old G4 sitting next to my knee. I use it for PhotoShop, Final Cut, Illustrator etc.

And, as far as getting by with the last name of BUTMAN, well, it was hard — I grew-up fighting off the name callers - ya, like you.

I guess you are not aware of Apple feedback mechanism then: http://www.apple.com/feedback/
