I've decided its probably time to jump on the 24" aluminium bandwagon but i have no idea what to sell my white imac for. It doesnt seem that too many people are parting with their white intel imacs just yet on ebay and such (no local ones that i came across anyway).

Here are the specs:

20" White iMac
2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
256MB Video RAM
2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM
250GB Serial ATA Drive
SuperDrive 8X (DVDR-DL/CD-RW)
Wireless Keyboard & Mouse
Applecare protection plan till Nov 2009

Purchased in November of 2006

Any ballpark figures would be greeaaat (oh and any offers of $1 are fine too but a real ballpark figure would be ace ;) )

Truthful answer - check Apples refurb prices.

Your 20" imac has a gorgeous display - especially compared to the 24" of the same generation.

It's got the better video card choice and what not - and if it's in good condition - I'd say you're well within reason shooting for Apples "refurb" ballpark.

If I didn't just spend a @(*$load of money on my upcoming trip - I'd seriously consider a "real" offer. (my sister is trying to get an Apple)

Good luck selling it.

And if you want a reasonable amount - and haven't sold it in 4 weeks - I'll make a slightly more realistic offer. ;)

Ah thanks. I'll check that out. Its in excellent condition and i still have the original box. The only things that are deteriorating are the keyboard and mouse. Those old white keyboards sure do collect dust, dirt and what not. I'm onto my second wireless mighty mouse (using applecare). Those damn clogging scroll balls...

I hope the whole gradient thing doesnt surface on my new 24". I have gotten very used to my nice matte 20"...

That last part of your post is reason enough for me NOT to upgrade.

Not the whole gradient issue - but the gloss vs matte.

It's down to personal preference, but my EXs laptop had a gloss screen, and I HATED it. You saw every reflection and movement behind you if there was even moderate light in the room.

Really distracting for me. But to each their own.

Keyboard and mouse - big deal really, they are cheap to replace. I'd be more concerned about the display / imac itself. But with more Applecare left... That too, is a moot issue.

Sorry..."price check" threads are limited to the Marketplace forum, and you don't have enough posts to be eligible to start a thread there. "Price check" threads have a tendency to quickly become "for sale" threads, so we've had to institute this rule to help make sure all sales take place in the Marketplace. Thanks. :)
