View Full Version : How much can I expect from my MacBook to put towards an UP

So these rumors of an Ultra Portable have me very intrigued. I know I am not the only one on these forums...

My question arises about the price. I'm expecting this UP to be in the price range discussed on here, but I need to know how much I can sell my current MB for. I'm a college student, so money is always a concern.

I went into the Apple store and got the mid level MB, white, 2.2ghz, 1GB ram, etc. etc. and added iWork to it for my word processing and presentation needs (I'm a Communications and Advertising Major).

I have not seen any of the problems talked about on here. The screen is fine. I did have the keyboard freeze one time early after I got it (The week after Thanksgiving), since then, it has been fine.

So what should I be looking for if I put it up on eBay with 60 +/- transactions with 100% positive?

Do you think the price will substantially go down if I wait until after MacWorld?

I don't know I'm thinking aloud here, but I really would love to have a little more power and not worry about the screen size or external drive, so the UP would be ideal.

Thanks for the help guys and girls!

I think the price would go down a bit if this rumoured UP replaced the MB. However nothing is really saying that, and the MB will probably have the same spec afterwards, so it'll just be a little less because it's used presumably.

Unfortunately price checking threads (or "feelers") are only permitted in the Marketplace forum (http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?f=14). Users need 100 posts to be eligible to post there.
