I have one of the BEST macs out there and I have a butload of space that's just there for the sexyness of it here are my specs:

Processor:Two 3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon (8-core)

Memory:32GB (8 x 4GB)

Raid card:Mac Pro RAID Card

Hard Drive Bay 1:1TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s

Hard Drive Bay 2:1TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s

Hard Drive Bay 3:1TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s

Hard Drive Bay 4: Not in use

graphics:NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 1.5GB (Stereo 3D, two dual-link DVI)

Mac OS X Server v10.5:Mac OS X Server (Unlimited-Client)

Just so you don't ask I got my parts from my dad, He was getting ready to throw away his old server computers (there were five I think) and I asked if I could have some of his parts and he told me to have fun so I did and this is what I got out of it. *note* the graphics card I bought with my own money*note*

So I have timetravel and firefox along with ALL of the adobe products (just for bragging rights but I can use them if I wanted) also for games I have crysis, CoD 4 and elderscrolls IV oblivion. What else do I need?

I have a good feeling that this thread has no real value then trying to get other users to post on about your purchase and the price.

If you made a purchase that is.

Get your hard drives from NewEgg and RAM from OWC (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Mac-Pro-Memory).

Know what I think is fishy? The fact that he claims to have the SAS RAID card and SATA drives, which is an impossible configuration.

Know what I think is fishy? The fact that he claims to have the SAS RAID card and SATA drives, which is an impossible configuration. :rolleyes:Actually, I don't think so--I was under the impression (certainly the specs claim so) that SATA drives will run off of a SAS controller, although SAS drives won't run on a SATA controller.

That's all I'm going to say, however. I honestly wonder why anyone outside of CAD or Maya pros (and maybe Motion-jockeys, if Motion makes use of the mass VRAM) would fork over $3000 for a graphics card that is in all likelihood slower than the "consumer" GF option for most (gaming) purposes. Not saying nobody will, but it's really a very special-purpose piece of hardware with a VERY small target market.
