Hi, I'm trying to cut down a 718MB quicktime movie so i can fit it on a 700MB disc. Anyway to do this without having to go into final cut and waiting hours for it to render?

thanks

if you have quicktime pro, yes...

and even in final cut it wouldn't take too long..

in qt just export the movie as something a bit more compressed/lower quality. or cut some of the time out..

in fcp just make a project, import the file, cut as needed, then export the qt as whatever will make it fit on 700 cd... both are not really too time intensive... of course i'm saying that based on dual 800 times..

if you need more help just let me know more specifics or someone else will probably chime in i'm sure.

Do you have quicktime pro or regular?

You could rerender it in QT by exporting it. Also remove a few frames - if its possible and save it as a self contained file.

But if you can't do that, your stuck rerendering it somehow and that will take a bit of time.

Good luck.

if the qt file is dv... the rerendering shouldn't be necessary... i mean, you'll have to export it which will take a bit of time whether from fcp or qt, but still, shouldn't be TOO bad... a few minutes at most i'd think. though i coudl be off.

believe it or not; I have been in tough spots and imported movies into flash then edited them there...

as unprofessional and ghetto as it gets; but amusing for sure..
