I don't understand the world!

I don't understand why Steve Jobs doesn't announce the new MacBook Pros to know that they are coming and not go and buy a $2800+ machine and the next day have the new one come out with better graphics and whatnot. Why can't he do that? Does he like to drive me and others crazy? Is this his secret plan? To kill everyone with his little plan and become ruler of surprises? WHY STEVE!?!?!? WHY!!?1?!
