It'd be funny if they were just boxes, with nothing in them... If I worked at Virginia Tech, I would've pulled off a prank like that. I might've put some bricks in the box to make the person think they have a G5, but it'd still be funny :D

Sadly not up to the dizzy heights of your current elevation jello, simple 1.8's I'm afraid, although I'd spec'ed eMacs for a low level a\v lab, so I have to say facilities came up trumps:D

They are: 1.8Ghz, 2gig RAM, 160gig HD's running with some generic 17" flat screens, we have FCP4, DVDSP2, ProTools LE, Logic 6, Reason and Reaktor to load, even though there are problems with PT at the mo...:(

I'm gonna keep the boxes as dead file storage, even though they'll be in the basement;)

I have to say it took me by surprise this morning.

'sOK, I'm gonna run them all in parallel for a while and kick some serious render butt:D

Seriously, I ran one up and loaded Logic, then ran a post pro project with 30-odd audio tracks and a 1/3 screen video window, loads of automation and fx and it just ate it up, ran at about 40% load on the CPU, and that's un-optimised:D

The room they are going in currently has no external network access, only an internal one to the X-serve holding the foley fx databases, but I'm working on full access, and WILL be installing folding the moment that happens:D

Sadly I don't have a big office, and I'm afraid they might fall on me.

Maybe you can get someone to sell you a box if you pay shipping and handling. If worth a try, you never know unless you ask. I happen to be one of those that save all of my boxes. Some just don't have room to keep the box.
