I'm looking for a machine to stick in my office to run a couple of Mac specific programs (Notebook, Papers, mostly).

I don't need a screen or keyboard, battery life isn't important (desk bound), optical drive doesn't matter/isn't needed, HDD space doesn't matter either. The only things that I need are a decent processor (1.25GHz or better), graphics grunt to run a Dell 24", and an airport card.

I've looked at Mini's and they're too expensive still ($300+). But if you have half of an iMac or Powerbook I'm interested.

does it have to have a working airport?

I have a 15" G4 I use as a front row box hooked up to my TV. It never came with a screen so there was no antenna. The AP was useless so I put it in an imac I later sold.

I paid over 200 for it. But I need to get it gone. It has a card slot/usb2.0 if you need other options. I would be willing to go 200 even shipped.

Airport is the easiest way to get internet access without dealing with the IT people ... but I could work around that if the rest of the package is right.

Detailed specs on speed, HDD, ram?
The Machine model from 'About this mac' is helpful too.

No problem, I am at work right now. I'll get the info as soon as I get home. I was about to throw it up on the 'bay. I've already taken pictures.

It's been two weeks and I haven't heard from the previous respondent ... even though it looked promising.

So I'm bumbing the thread and asking if anyone has a machine like I've listed above. The price is negotiable, so feel free to throw an offer out there.

Oh, I've looked on ebay, and all most of those machines seem to have nebulous 'logicboard issues', are missing powercords/ram, or otherwise screwy conditions.

here's more

There are no screws for the top. the slot is bent, so I don't know about the condition of the dvd drive. 1.25 ghz It only has 256 megs of ram (ill try to find more) The keyboard had a key that was sticking so I unplugged it from the LB. I payed 230 for it shipped from the bay. No airport. I have been using it for a couple of months as an appletv with no issues. I'll throw in the Keyspan remote too.

I just think of it as a mac mini with a fw800 port
