I am not looking to sell but just wanted to know what an approx price is for this unit
12" powerbook
1.33gHz
256+512mb Ram
combo drive
nice physical condition
Issues:
no OS
Bad hdd (not working/needs replacement)
possibly bad battery or motherboard*
The battery cannot charge when the computer is asleep. The unit will not start with the battery...only on ac power.
What do you guys think?

It's hard to place a value on it for a couple of reasons:
1.) No hard drive
2.) Questionable motherboard
3.) Potentially bad power supply board
What you have described is a nice aluminum case full of random parts. Without knowing more or having a more specific description of the condition/function it's near impossible to place a value on it.
I would say $50-$100 at best.
Try to get a more detailed idea of it's issues and you might be able to garner a higher price. Until you do I doubt anyone is going to bite unless they just want the parts.

I am not looking to sell.
I am just looking for a price estimate due to other reasons.
I am currently testing out unit. There are still some tests I need to complete. As far as the battery goes, the unit cannot power on with the battery, but runs just fine on AC. Once I remove the ac, the unit continues to work just fine.

Understood. However, in its present state it doesn't have a lot of value. You really need to get some of the issues resolved or at least troubleshot so a better understanding of what would be required to make it serviceable again.

Alright, assuming the computer has
powerbook 12" in pristine condition
1.33ghz
new battery
new 120gb hdd
1.25gb ram maxed
combo drive
with OS discs and leopard upgrade?
booq case
I just would like an approx value to see how much I would get from my upgrades.

Thanks for the estimate. Yeah I figured out it is just a battery problem, so I will be getting a new battery for the PB. The HDD has been replaced so all is hunky dory again.
Basically everything is new. So that might be a good ballpark price,
