Just a feeler - how much do you think mine is worth? It's in mint condition, with no defects at all (yellow screen, burnt pixels, etc.). It was purchased in around August/September of 2007. I'm also in Canada if that means anything. Thanks!

Edit - the best offer I have now is $1500. :S Seeing as new ones are coming shortly, is it good offer? I wish I could get more...

Edit #2 - Sold - at just the right time (few days before the updates) for $1675.

I listed mine on craiglist in anticipation of the macbook air and I got 3 local buyers willing to pay $1800 (usd though) for that same computer, but with 4GB ram (only a $100 upgrade). I ended up bailing because I didn't like the Mba.

I think $1600 is about the highest you will get on here. Thats what I found from trying to sell my MBP.

Is it a 2.2 Ghz or 2.4.

If it is a 2.4 and has apple care you could get 2000.
just my opinion

It is the 2.2, the 2.4s come with 160HD.

Oops, sorry for not giving the details.

It's a matte screen, baseline 2.2 SR MBP.

I answered back the guy who offered 1600 and told him I had other offers (I actually received several!!) and he is offering $1700 Canadian. God deal?

Yes, I would take that. Thats a good deal for your computer. Only $300 less then retail is always excellent if you're the seller.

Cool, thanks!

The guy left me his number and wants to meet somewhere...I find that sort of sketchy - I've never dealt on that site before. I asked him if I can just drop it off at his house.

Thanks everyone for the advice!

Meet somewhere you're comfortable at - a bank, post office, Starbucks, etc. Don't meet at his house - thats about the worst thing you can do if you think a deal is feeling sketchy. Always a public place.

Thanks for the advice! HE squeezed me down to $1675. I accepted it. Public place it is!

I would not take it. When I was selling mine, in Canada, I was asking $2000 (though mine came with lots of extras). I had some offers of around $1800 which I declined. The only reason I havent sold it was because I removed it, because Instead of upgrading, which I wanted to do (17"), I am getting a new car

How could you be getting 2 K for it? It's only $1999 at BB now.

This was over 1 month ago, plus mine has about $200 in extras (windows XP, original games, mouse etc).
So you do the math. $2200 + tax + $200 + tax extras= $2650+.
So theyd be saving, after taxes, almost $700 on a like new MBP.

Yes it is.

The other buyer backed out, now I have another offer for $1500
I don't think that's a very good deal at all...
