Hi all. I'm thinking of selling my 1st gen 1.83 macbook with combo drive.
I had the battery and top case replaced right at the end of my 1 year warranty in June 07. Battery has 4500mah of the original 5200mah.
Upgraded ram to 2gb with Kingston sticks(I still have the original 2x512's if you want them, too), Has a 160gb Western digital drive in it, don't have the original Tiger disks... they were damaged when I moved in early January, so I think I have to send it without an OS ;)
Hmm... what else? Ask me anything you need to know, and I'll try to answer.
What price should I ask for this? I kind of want to trade it for a Mac Mini, I think.

I'd say $700-750 shipped.
Edit: There should be a new mini out soon, you can sell this and buy the new mini.

OK, thanks for the input on pricing. I'm not interested in a brand new mini, I don't think... current gen used is probably good for me, I just want it as an HTPC.
I'm going to buy an iMac for my desktop, and an Eee PC for mobile computing. My macbook is too big for that, and too small to effectively edit photos and play WoW ;)
Keep the pricing suggestions coming, please! I'm not really looking to sell immediately, but probably in a week or two. I'll have to wait for my iMac to come before I get rid of this thing.

Too high IMO. You can get an older refurb for around that. This has no warranty, no operating system, a history of repair... I would say $600 would be a good middle ground figure.

History of repair? No, history of almost all First gen macbooks having issues that I had fixed by apple.
If you didn't know, the top case discolouration was a common issue with the original Macbooks, and was replaced under warranty because of faulty manufacturing. The Battery was the same, Original macbook batteries were losing capacity too fast, so they were replaced free of charge. There was nothing wrong with the battery, I just got a brand new one for free when it was offered by apple.

I understand that $650 is the going price on here but I was considering expensive Canadian shipping and the fact that CDN refurbs/prices in general are more expensive.
Edit: He also has an upgraded configuration.

I guess I misunderstood. By top case repair, I thought that implied that there was damage to the case that had to be repaired (from a drop, etc).
Still, my price estimate stands for a plain US sale.
